Hey everyone, I know it's been forever since I have updated and you all are probably angry at me for that but I have reasons and before you think that I am making excuses again, please listen. I had a big family event where all of my cousins turned up so I had no time to write, my mum didn't let me even touch my laptop during that time and after we returned I got sick for two days. After everything was over my Unit Tests started and my studies have always been my priority hence, I will not apologise for that. I will try to be consistent with my updates but I can't promise anything.

I hope you enjoy the chapter.

...............................................................................................

It had been six weeks since I had last seen Dulquer, and I only felt anguish, heartbreak and gut-wrenching sadness all this time. I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat and all my thoughts ultimately led back to him. I am currently sitting in front of my desk staring at a resume for the department head at the company for the last 30 minutes and have not yet come to any conclusion because my mind is elsewhere.

Suddenly I hear a knock at my door and I get up to open it. I am greeted by the familiar face of Ram holding two mugs of coffee in his hands and I get back to my seat.

"Kaise ho?" He asks as soon as he hands me the coffee mug and sits on the bed. My groans are the only response he receives, as I am tired of that question and the pitying glances from everyone.

"Y/n, I'm asking seriously. You can't go on like this," he tries to console me but even he knows that this is pointless. I know I have been acting depressed since that incident happened weeks ago but I can't seem to let it go. I feel guilty for hurting Dulquer even though I did nothing wrong. My world is filled with broken promises, sweet words, and woeful misunderstandings.

Six Weeks Ago (Y/n's POV)

Mine and Dulquer's family had planned another lunch (the third in a month) and we were all greeting each other. Ma, Surekha Aunty and Sulfath Aunty were busy gossiping about a neighbour of ours. Mine, Dulquer and Ram's dads and Ram and Arjun were busy talking about the companies. I swear that is all men do sometimes while Dulquer and I were blushing like lovesick teenagers and talking.

We were sitting in the dining room, eating and talking with each other, and in the chaos of my family and Dulquer's, this was the most peaceful time I had felt in the last few months. I lovingly looked at Dulquer eating, my family and his and thought that this could all work.

We all had our lunch and I was headed to the bathroom to fix my look but when I came back, I suddenly collided with something sturdy and firm and backtracked to see who it was but I smiled when I realized it was only Ram. He suddenly hugged me tightly and buried his face into my neck.

"Ram, kya tum theek ho?" I ask, concerned as the last time Ram hugged me like that was years ago because he scrapped his knee and came to me instead of going to Surekha Aunty because she had specifically told him not to play cricket. He was hugging me just like he had done all those years ago.

I gently pat his back to soothe him, his strange behaviour only fueling my concern for him. I take a step back and make him look me in the eye before asking him.

"Ram, what is wrong, please batao," I ask, now confused. He looks at me once and then starts to speak.

"Y/n, when you told me you loved me five years ago, I couldn't believe that you could love someone like me and I pushed you away. While I believe that you and I aren't meant to be I couldn't shake this guilt that I had hurt you right to your core and now I am glad that you have someone who can love you wholly and steadfastly as you deserve. I just want to tell you that I always want you to be happy in life," he said with so much conviction which made my heart beat faster.
