CHAPTER THREE - ADAPTING
Cale realized it was time for him to open his eyes. It was because he could hear a voice in his head.
— 3, 2, 1. Half, half of half... Human, I will count back down from 1000. Wake up before 0, or I will destroy this place. 1000, 999, 998...
Not just that, he realized that Raon was sniffing a little.
Cale didn't like children crying because of him. Mainly because wet clothes were troublesome and annoying, and he felt like a bad guy.
That was why he willingly opened his eyes. Then, he heard a gasp from Raon.
— Human, you’re awake! You have been unconscious for two days, six hours, twenty-three minutes and fourteen seconds!
Two days, huh? It wasn't as long as he thought. He assumed it was to be expected since he merely fainted due to exhaustion, not like the usual overusing ancient powers.
Then, he finally noticed that Raon who was on his lap was invisible.
“Y, you're awake!”
There’s another presence inside the room.
A woman with long brown hair who wore clothes that Cale could only assume as Japanese clothing that suit this world's era.
She seemed to be taking care of him the entire time he has been unconscious.
Raon then proceeded to give a report to Cale about the situation telepathically even without Cale telling him to.
— Human, I teleported us to the nearest place I sense! Then, I found the people that we saved from the bandits! They immediately took care of you!
‘So that's what happened.’
He absentmindedly patted Raon's head for being smart enough to teleport them to the nearest place.
“Where is this?”
“You're at our house... Wait a minute, I will call my father!!”
Then, the woman ran out from the house. Cale took this as a chance to examine his body condition.
‘…They changed my clothes.’
Cale fainted while wearing a mask and black hood. But now he was wearing the comfortable clothing of this world.
He wasn’t pleased to know that a stranger change him while he was defenseless but Raon was there so it should be fine. Cale was only used to his personal servants, Ron and Hans to change his clothes.
But he guessed he shouldn’t complain too much.
Since they took care of him, an unknown man and even brought him to their house.
In that sense, Cale was indebted to them.
Not long after that Cale was greeted by the sight of the familiar old man he met two days ago.
“How’re you feeling now, shinobi-san?”
Cale frowned.
‘…Did he think I’m a ninja?’
He should have known that civilians had no way of finding out whether a person was a shinobi or a civilian, not in a way shinobi could.
Well, Cale wouldn’t bother to correct the misunderstanding.
“I’m fine now. Thank you for taking care of me.”
“No, you shouldn’t thank us! It’s also our fault that you faint. We are the one who should thank you for saving us from those shinobi.”
