CHAPTER FOUR - VISITING THE RUINS

After a few days of adjusting to this new world and being able to understand the language, Cale and Raon decided to finally move.

“Thank you for taking care of me.”

“It’s nothing! Please visit us next time, Kei-san!”

Cale teleported away from the place.

If there was one good thing that happened during these peaceful days, it was that he could finally hear the voices of ancient powers.

It turned out that ancient powers were adjusting themselves to the foreign power—chakra that existed in his plate—body. The ancient powers were all glad and relieved that he was safe and sound despite being thrown into another world and had another completely different power inside his body.

—…Human.

Raon looked at the sight of the ruins with his big blue eyes.

Cale shared the same sentiment as Raon.

He could feel how many lives were lost to protect this village and the tragedies.

He didn’t like destruction and the aftermath of war. Looking at the ruined village reminded him of his home, Roan Kingdom that suffered the most out of all kingdoms due to the recent war.

After he completed the God of Death’s tasks successfully and returned home, he would help his sworn brother with the construction. He felt bad to let Alberu do everything because he was sure the crown prince would be the busiest person to handle the aftermath war. His brother also needed to make preparations to take over the throne before the Spring.

Once again, Cale blamed God of Death for transporting him when he was so busy with other work.

Cale frowned as he walked near the ruins.

Now that he stopped thinking about annoying things and simply observed the destroyed buildings, he felt… something.

This place was destroyed decades ago.

And Cale did not have any sort of connection to this place since he came from a completely different world.

But.

He felt something nostalgic. Like something—someone has been calling him to this place.

‘…How ominious.’

Cale took out his mother’s diary from his spatial bag. He opened the diary and found out that his mother had been writing something.

<It looked just like what my ancestors wrote in those records.>

‘…Huh?’

Cale’s pupil shook.

With just a sentence from his mother, it was verified that the Thames family had a connection to the ruined Uzushiogakure. Somehow Cale was unable to accept the unbelievable truth.

“…Mother, you told me that your family was only researching about Time and Life.”

His mother didn’t mention anything about being related to a clan that was destroyed in another world.

The letters quickly appeared on the diary as soon as Cale asked.

<It’s just a legend of our family, cutie.>

A legend? Cale had enough of legends. He had already a crazy lunatic on his side that looked at him and told him about his legends.

<It is said that the first patriarch of the Thames family came from another world because he had unbelievable powers. He could create spatial bag out of thin air and heal people with green glow. He was exceptional at runes or seals, he said. Of course, I saw his portrait and thought that he looked otherworldly with his bright red hair and green eyes. I never quite believe the records until I saw this.>
