Debora's Pov.
[Next day after Christmas]

Sleep was being my enemy tonight. As I tossed one last time in my bed, I realised I'd not be able to sleep. Throwing the sheets off, I checked the time.

3:30. Crap.

I was hoping it would be at least 5. I got up, put on a jacket and left the room quietly so as to not disturb the others.

Heading into the kitchen I made myself a cup of coffee. For some reason I couldn't sleep. My fingers hovered over Esther's number. 'Call. No she must be busy. But I want to talk to her.' Killing my inner monologue I shut my phone, and decided to go for a walk.

I left a note on the kitchen table.
"Gone for a walk.
Debora
Time - 3:45"

Grabbing my phone. I shut the door softly, headed out and descended down the hill. The hill's one of the few things that I like about this place aside from my new friends. I wanted to sit but feeling restless I decided against it. Sitting wouldn't help but running would my mind countered. So that's what I did.
I ran down the hill.

I closed my eyes, felt the wind on my face, the world was quiet not a sound could be heard. Slowing down, I opened my eyes. I was at the main gate. Pushing in the pin it opened and out I went. Walking towards the main street. There were hardly a few cars on the road. The air smelt fresh.

I walked on the sidewalk of the road having no clue where I'm headed. The walk turned into a light jog and then a sprint. Feeling my head clear I stopped for a second.

All of a sudden I'm in the air. And with a 'thud' I crash back down. Streching out my hand to my head I find a sticky red liquid. Blood.

I seen the silhouette of a man. "You should've known your place. Orphan." Martin, that dumb moron. I'm going to kill him.

Annabelle's Pov.
[Few hours after Zanudu left]

"Mamma your phone's ringing." My youngest son came running to me. "Are you ok Ma? You look zoned out." I gave a soft smile to reassure him. "Let's see who's calling."

"I'm calling from Dallas police station my name's Briel. I hope I'm speaking to Mrs. Annabelle D'Souza." I heard a voice as I was half way down the stairs. I hurriedly down and said "Yes. May I know what you are calling about?"

"You had registered a missing complaint for your daughter Miss Deborah. It appears that your daughter is currently in the hospital due to a car accident." She paused then continued "Her legal guardian is not present right now and, as such we ran her through our database. Would you be willing to take her in?"

Esther's Pov.
[26th December; 10:00 am]

I stopped the car near the entrance of the hospital. Telling Luna to park it as I walked in. God how did this happen. It wasn't supposed to be like this.

She was happy here. She was going to come back to India in a few days. I walked into the room. Not her room. Not the main hall. Her hospital room. A room I never wished to be in. A room I had hoped Deborah would never be in or even have to see.

She was lying there, her hand and head covered in bandages. I took her hand in mine. She lay there not moving unless it was the soft movement that showed she was breathing. Along with the beeping of the stupid machine. Placing a soft kiss on her forehead I rested my forehead on hers. Inhaling a deep breath I looked to her side.
