Happy Independence Day India
Hi guys.
I don't know where do you read my story from but there's something I would also like to bring to your notice, a case that I came across. It's slightly disturbing so please be warned.
The case I'm talking about is the Kolkata gang rape case where a doctor was raped and murdered in the hospital she practiced her profession. She was on a 36hr duty during which after a dinner at 2am she went to the seminar room. She was found semi naked with bruises over her the next day. The authorities tried to shut the case as a suicide case. But due to parents suspicion and postmortem reports it's been ruled that she was indeed raped. Today being India's independence I am in utter shock at the fact that people are trying to eliminate the evidences. Her family was forced to cremate her in a hurry. The hospital has been vandalized, doctors thrashed and the emergency room is shut.
I sincerely apologise to the girl's parents, her family, friends and all close to her. Even though this apology is not going to help them. I hope justice will be delivered cause hope and prayers are all I can give them.
I don't know what else I can do right now. And if this situation continues there may come a time when people won't even flinch an eye when things like this happen. I know that there may be many rape cases, that go unreported or suppressed, unnoticed; but if those who can raise a voice including me remain quiet, then 1 day even we might not have a voice anymore.
Wattpad is the only place I have ever posted any writings. As such this post, please read the articles online if you want more information regarding this case. And also your prayers would greatly be appreciated for the girl's family as well as so that the criminal is caught.
