Ayanokoji Pov:

“...We have to go through this?”

Hasebe asked in worry.

Right now, we were about to go inside the cave that leads us to the gym.

Seriously, why does this take so much effort? I mean, it's not like I am tired. But I don't think making students do this is a good idea.

“It is what it is.”

I said.

“Ugh.”

Hasebe grunted.

I looked at the map.

We entered the cave, and it was quite dark there.

“Why is it so dark here? Does anyone have a pokemon that knows flash?”

Hasebe complained.

Pikachu could learn it. But I didn't want to waste a move slot on flash.

Besides, it's not that much of a problem. From that one time I glanced at the map, I memorized the layout of the cave. So I could visualize the entire cave in my head, allowing me to find the way quite easily.

We all walked for around five minutes, though I felt it was awfully silent.

“Hey, Ayanon? Where are the others?”

Hasebe asked me.

I looked around to see that aside from Hasebe, everyone pretty much Disappeared.

Well, this is a problem.

I quickly took out my phone to call Eiichiro, but there was no internet here.

I sighed.

“Alright, we are gonna look for them.”

I told Hasebe.

“Oh come on. Did they really have to get lost?”

“But what if your friends abandoned you two?”

A familiar voice popped out from the dark.

“Huh!?! Who is there!?!”

Hasebe quickly yelled out.

“It's just Morishita, Hasebe.”

I told Hasebe.

“Yo.”

Morishita said while waving her hand.

“Oh…”

Hasebe gave out a sigh of relief.

“What about your partner?”

I questioned her.

“She abandoned me as well. Or maybe I just accidentally left her behind? She doesn't have much of a presence after all.”

Morishita shrugged.

“Well, let's look for them together.”

I invited Morishita to join us in our search.

Hasebe looked at me with a conflicted expression.

“Hm? Sure. It's not like I have anything to do otherwise. I can't go fight in the gym without my partner after all.”

Morishita accepted.

“Well, let's split up first then. We can cover more ground that way.”
