On that Monday, Maggie was awake at 5:30 to get ready for school, she wanted to be in and out of the bathroom so she wouldn't be in the way of the other girls. She took a very quick shower and by the time she got out and dressed in her new uniform, it was around 6:15 and Emily and Erin were already up, Sam was still dozing away. It was very quiet, there seemed to be a silent understanding not to talk this early in the morning.
Sam finally woke up at 6:45, Maggie was pretty much already ready, sitting next to the vinyl player, with headphones plugged in. She watched Sam scramble to get herself ready as the other girls moved at a calm pace. It was clear Sam and Emily hadn't talked anything through in the past day, as they kept avoiding each other. So at 7:15, Emily made sure to face away from Sam, facing Erin and Maggie,
"The latest we can leave is 7:30." She announced, Sam glared from behind her,
"Erin tell Emily, that I will be ready in time and to calm down," Sam said and Emily looked like smoke was about to come flying out of her ears. Erin raised her eyebrows, shrugged and turned to Emily,
"Sam sa-"Erin tried but she was quickly cut off,
"Stop."Emily interrupted "Stop being annoying and just hurry up, I can't be late on the first day."
"Erin," Sam said with a sickly sweet smile, "Tell Emily just because her attendance is ass, doesn't mean the rest of us need to rush." Forget smoke flying, fists were about to be flying. Before Emily could respond, Sam turned to slide her shoes on, popped up and announced, "Okay, ready to go." As she walked out the door. Emily clenched her jaw and walked out behind her, followed by Erin and finally Maggie, who locked the door.
The walk was quiet, it only took them 15 minutes because this building was closer than the main building. When they walked in there was a bit of a crowd formed around this one area. As Maggie got closer she could see they were surrounding a bulletin board,
"Thats where we see our homerooms," Emily explained to her, and Maggie nodded. When they finally got to the front, Maggie quickly found her name, 10-B. She repeated that in her head over and over again until they all regrouped in a quieter place,
"What did everyone get ?" Erin asked
"I got 10-B," Maggie answered
"Me too!"
"Same!"
"No fucking way. Me too,"
They all looked at each other with big smiles on their faces until Sam and Emily made eye contact, and the smiles turned into blank expressions and Maggie and Erin exchanged worried looks.
"Let's go upstairs, we don't wanna be late." Emily basically ordered.
When they got to the classroom labeled 10-B there were a good amount of desks open. The desks were arranged in rows of two. Sam sat down right next to the window in the middle of the row, Emily walked past her and sat directly behind her. Maggie's legs carried her on a straight path to Emily, because she had to go through with the plan remember? Erin obviously sat down next to Sam. Maggie was about to try and start a conversation when Mikey walked through the door, so naturally Maggie was at a loss for words and simply smiled and waved at him.
Mikey saw her wave, smiled and started to walk over when he was stopped by the big neck kid she had seen him with in the Main Building on the first day, Mikey looked at him questionably, the kid said something, Mikey rolled his eyes and pointed to the desks near Maggie and her friends. The kid nodded dumbly and followed Mikey like a lost puppy to the girls, Maggie now noticed that there were 5 other boys with them who also gravitated towards the window.
