                                    chapter one ─── more banished

"𝕿wila!" A voice called, smooth as the pool on a summers day.

"What can I do for you, Mercury?" A woman called back, glancing up from her paperwork as a girl with glowing hair rushed into her office.

"We have visitors."

"Who?"

"The council." Twila stood up so fast that her black chair fell over, causing her silvery hair to flow down her back freely.

"The entire council?" Mercury nodded with a slight crease at the tip of her purple hue nose. "Shit, clear the area. Tell everyone to calm down and come hang out in my office. You join them when I'm finished."

She nodded before speeding out as Twila left the room, headed through the palace corridors to the entrance to the planet. When she finally emerged into the light, the stars and distant sun were twinkling down happily while the two neighboring planets stood guard. The goddess smile softly before frowning and glaring at the group that was standing outside the gates.

"Zeus!" She exclaimed, the planets shifting a little closer. "Why the fuck are you here?"

"We need a favor." He replied and stepped over the barrier closer to the girl.

"Like hell you do."

"Twila, sweetheart, please." The god said, placing a hand on her cheek.

"We are not doing this here. Not after what happened. You need to leave our planet." She demanded, pulling her face away from him and ignoring the look Mercury sent her as she passed, leading a group of star gods and goddesses inside.

"We have children for you." He stepped out of the way and my eyes landed on twelve teenagers, ranging from the age of thirteen to seventeen.

"Why have you brought us children Zeus?" She demanded, eyes raking over the group and took in the different features that must have linked them to their godly parent. "They have no place here."

"They need to learn a thing or two about respecting the council." Ares growled, shoving a boy with black hair and green eyes in the back.

"And where is Apollo?" Twila raised her eyebrows, feeling the planets shift ever so closely.

"He didn't want to come. Something about not wanting to see his son upset?" Aphrodite said offhandedly.

"You people could learn a thing or two from him." She muttered before turning and calling out to her best friend. "Andromeda!"

"What do you need, Twila?" Nebula asked, her ever changing, purple, blue and blush pink dress dragging on the ground as she made her way over to the group.

"Well sparkly. Can you take these children inside and show them to the spare rooms?"

She rolled her eyes at the nickname but lead the kids inside. The one with black hair began to follow but I place a hand on his shoulder. "Wait at the front door while I handle these arrogant gods. I want to speak to you."

He nodded and continued after them but Twila trusted him to do as she said.

"Now back to you people,"

"So you'll take them in?" She rolled her eyes at the messenger's relief but it made her wonder. What would have happened to the kids if she hadn't have taken them in?

"Yes. How long will they stay."

"Six months."

"Excuse me?" Twila sputtered at Zeus's answer. "Who suggested that?"

All the Olympians fingers were pointed at Ares and she sighed. "Whatever. Six months it is then. Now get off of my planet." Hermes threw a glance at Twila and she motioned for him to come closer to her as the other gods teleported off. "How have you and Apollo been?"

"Hanging in there. Zeus has been a thousand times worse since you left." He chuckled a little.

"You two will be coming here next week for a sleep over. I need all the Olympus drama since I left and the details on this little group you guys just dropped off." Twila smiled, a big genuine smile, for the first time since she left Earth over a 1,000 years ago.

"I'll drag Apollo up here if I have to, though I'm sure I won't have to." Hermes smiled, pulling the younger goddess into a tight hug. "It was good seeing you, Astro. I've got to head out but IM me and Apollo when you want us to come."

"Be careful, Message Man." She laughed before pulling away and making an attempt to shove the god through the gates. "Now you have work to do. I don't want to mess the mortal's little world up. They're too precious."

Hermes laughed before his shoes fluttered and he took off into space as Twila stood there, smile plastered on her face.

"How do you and Hermes know each other?" A voice said from her side and she jumped.

The black haired boy had somehow managed to sneak up on her and she gently guided him away from the edge of the planet and towards the palace. "We met when I was still on Olympus."

They walked in silence until they made it to her office. Twila opened the door for the young man, walking in behind him and took a seat at her desk across from him.

"So, why are you and your friends here?"

I just love Hermes and Twila's friendship so much. It's just pure and wholesome. Hermes calls Twila "Astro" and Im here for it. Gotta figure out a good nickname that Apollo could have for her. Any suggestions?

Drama on Olympus with the demigods. What do you think happened? What's going to happen later on in the book?

With lots of love,
