𝕴t had been a little over a month since Percy had explained what they were stuck on my planet for and the group was settling nicely.
"Morning Twila." Jason said, entering the kitchen with sleepy eyes and in his pajamas, which were oddly superman pjs.
"Morning Jase." I smiled, ruffling his hair as he took a seat at the bar. "The others up yet?"
"Percy, Thalia, Grover and Nico, probably aren't up. Will might be, the sun hasn't been waking him up as quickly here. The others are a complete wonder to me."
I served him a plate of scrambled eggs and a pancake, which was blue, since that was the only way Percy and Nico would eat the food, and moved to stand across from Jason at the bar. "How'd you sleep last night? Any nightmares?"
Jason swallowed a bite of pancake before responding. "I slept great. Are we getting any visitors?"
I nodded as both Percy and Nico came crashing through the door, mid argument, with Reyna, Annabeth and Will trailing behind. "Morning guys." They nodded in our direction and began to make plates, so I turned back to Jason. "Anyways, yeah. Hermes and Apollo are staying for the weekend if that's alright with y'all?"
Will pricked up and glanced over. "Why's my dad and Hermes coming to stay?"
"Honestly, Apollo is probably missing you, since your his favorite. Plus, Hermes, Apollo and I have been best friends for the last 5,000 years." I shrugged with the ghost of a smile splitting my face.
"Is that why you were hugging Hermes when they dropped us of?" Percy raised his eyebrows pointedly and a blushed spread across my cheeks.
"Give me a break. I haven't seen them since I was banished from Olympus."
The group smiled and Reyna laughed. "Chill Twi, we're playing."
"Are you guys going to sit down and eat or what?" A playful smirk was plastered on my face when Leo walked in, huge bags under his eyes and barely awake. "Leo did you sleep last night?"
He turned to look at me while making a pot of coffee. "Not a wink."
"Put the coffee down." He stopped halfway through putting the coffee beans in and rolled his eyes but headed up to his room nevertheless. I gave them quick hugs before following the boy. "Why didn't you get good sleep?"
"Calypso." He responded simply.
"We'll get her off her island. I promise you that. I can go beyond the god's will if we can get them detracted enough that they wont notice till it's too late."
He nodded as we entered his room and he collapsed on his bed with a sigh. "Sleep well, Leo."
"See you later Twila." We smiled at each other before I shut the lights off, headed back down stairs.
I hadn't made it two steps before Jupiter came rushing over. "Twila! There are two Olympians at the gate."
"They're here?" She nodded and I broke out in a grin, running down the stairs as fast as I could with Jupiter trailing me.
As I emerged from the dark palace, sunlight shone on my face, blinding me for a second. When the white spots faded, I could see my best friends standing at the gate, having yet to notice me.
"Apollo! Hermes!" I called, sprinting over as Apollo's face broke into a grin. I wrapped him in a hug, smiling like a crazy person.
My feet suddenly left the ground and I yelped as Apollo began to spin me around. Catching a sight of a doubled over with laughter Hermes, I flipped him off.
"'Pollo stop. I'm in a dress so can we please reframe from flashing a bunch of teenagers?" I said with a laugh and he lowered me back to the ground. He cupped my face in his hands before wrapping me into a tight hug. "Miss me much, Sunshine?"
"More than you could ever believe." Our little group laughed and I began to lead them inside the palace, towards the kids. "How have they been doing?"
"Who, the kids?" I asked, looking at him through my prifirals, waiting for him to react. He nodded as we stopped in front of the kitchen doors. "See for yourself."
Hermes stepped closer and peered through the glass in the door with a soft smile, but Apollo stepped back farther. "Does he hate me?"
"What?" I blinked, stepping back next to him. "Why would Will hate you, sunshine?"
I grabbed his arm, dragging him into a side room as Hermes entered the kitchen. "Because I let the council temporarily banish them here." His eyes glittered with unshed tears and he stood there, utterly defeated, with his head hanging low. It was obvious he had been hiding it from Hermes, so the other god didn't tell me about his reservations.
"Apollo." I firmly grabbed his hand and titled his head up so I could see his face, smiled softly. "Don't do that to yourself. I couldn't even stand up to him before. Like hell I can now. Just please don't do that to yourself. Did any of the other gods stand up to your father? I know for a fact that they didn't. Your so much better than them, bar the ones who did try and Hermes, just because you feel so bad about it. Blaming yourself isn't good but it shows that you actually care."
"Really?" He asked. It broke my heart to see him so upset.
"Promise. Now come on, lets go see your son and his friends." He tossed a small smile my way as I wiped a tear from his cheek and we walked out, back towards the kitchen.
