Summary: Unable to sleep, you go and talk to Adam. Plundar, who was looking for Adam, finds you talking to him. Adam not wanting neither of you to leave, brings you two together. Literally.

You were on the floor, attempting to sleep. As was everyone else.

Cole was in deep thought, looking at the ceiling like it was the most interesting thing in the world. Wu had fallen asleep almost instantly (old people you thought) and was now snoring soundly. Vania had also been deep in thought, before finally managing to close her eyes to what seemed an uncomfortable sleep. Plundar on the other hand, was just sitting on his mat petting Adam. Fungus was 'sleeping' but you could tell he really kind of wasn't. Korgran was sleeping soundly like Wu, snoring if just two tad bits louder. Not that you minded because you liked background noise in such a silence.

The reason for this was because Fungus had insisted they all needed sleep after such a long day, no matter what time of the day it was outside. Cole had wanted to jump right into action before Plundar had told him they already searched for ages every inch of the cavern. Cole still wanted to search, but Fungus told him they all needed rest. He probably only listened because he knew everyone else wasn't in the mood to find more traps again in the next twenty-four hours. Korgran had offered to lend his mat to sleep on before Fungus duplicated it with some of his remaining magic.

You sighed and rolled over again for the tenth time since laying down. It wasn't that you were bothered by sleeping on the mat, you were only bothered because the day was filled with too much to process. Falling down, facing spiders, falling down again, facing a giant turtle, falling down again, facing a fucking whirlpool, and falling down again, and facing a pool. Not a fun day. On top of that, there was also what you had to process after all that. Meeting the Upply/Lowly, Korgran's story, and of course Adam almost jumpscaring you when you had cheered along with everyone else at Cole's motivational speech.

Now you were lying on the mat, just processing everything. Knowing you couldn't sleep for the shit of you, you simply got up and sat down at the edge of the pool. Your mind was running, your body exhausted, you didn't notice Adam almost creeping up on you again.

"Ah- oh wait it's just you Adam". You breathed out a small laugh "Please don't creep up on me like that, I'm just, thinking". Although you were still a little hesitant of Adam, he didn't attack anyone and he seemed to have taken a liking to you, occasionally following you around instead of Plundar. This in turn made Plundar just a little pissed, telling Adam he shouldn't be following you around because number one, they were loyal buddies since day one, and number two, you kept getting creeped out.

Korgran simply patted a frustrated Plundar and told him Adam probably just liked how you smelled. You wondered whether that was a compliment or not, as it could either mean you still smelled nice or you smelled like dog shit. But after a quick sniff of your hair it somehow still smelled like vanilla. Although not as strongly as before, it was still noticeable if someone got within one or two feet of you. Maybe being dunked in the water nearly five times only made the smell tougher or something. You made a mental note to continue using that shampoo for the rest of your fucking life if you managed to get out of there.

Good thing you always carried around a little tiny pouch bag of 'necessities' under your armor, and since you didn't like being caught off guard or unprepared. This wasn't something you were prepared for at all and you knew a small mini shampoo bottle and two pieces of gum plus a mini toothbrush and toothpaste bottle wouldn't be much help. You gave yourself a pat on the back for it though, at least you had toothpaste.

Adam made a small noise, bringing you back from your thoughts.

"So you like the smell of vanilla don't you?" you said with a small laugh. Something stupid to say but you were too exhausted to care. Adam chirped. You wondered if he could actually understand you having spent a good deal of time with people. Hm, probably.
