Samuel

I let my mind wander as my body soaked in the bath Nicholas had drawn for me.

I couldn't believe it...

I couldn't believe what just happened.

Believe it sister. The voice in my head spoke.

A dull pain began...as it always had before.

The only difference...before we were in New York...where my mother was a famous doctor who gave me medicine to make the voice go away.

She called it "quieting the tiny person inside."

As the dull pain began, so did the voice continue.

Your mother can't shut me up now. It quipped. And you can't go to her for whatever the hell she gave you to shut me up.

"Leave me alone!" I whined as I sank down in the bath.

Never. It sneered.

I began to hum a random tune.

You can't shut me out anymore either Sammy. It sighed.

"LALALALALALALALALA!" I hummed loudly ignoring it.

Fine. Be a bitch. I'll be back. The voice spat in annoyance and quieted.

I raised up more in the bath and sat there for who knows how long before I heard the door to the room creaking open.

I heard slight footsteps on the old wood floor.

"Hello?" I called out, "Nicholas?"

No response.

I stood up in the bath. "Hello?" I called.

No response again.

I leaned over and grabbed a randomly dry seeming towel.

The smell of sandalwood engulfed me.

Fuckkkk. The voice in my head purred.

I ignored it and walked out of the bathroom.

Surprisingly, I saw Neil whittling in a corner of the room.

"Neil?" I raised an eyebrow, "what in the hell are you doing?"

"N-Nothing," he was crouching in a corner like a scared puppy.

"Why are you hiding, then?" I crossed my arms at him.

"I just...don't wanna be out there." He buried his face.

He's lying. The voice in my head piped up.

I smacked my lips as I rustled through a drawer and yanked out clothes.

There was a knock at the door.

Neil yelped scrambled underneath the bed.

"The fuck??" I jerked my head between Neil and the door. "Neil!" I whisper shouted.

He did not respond.

There was another knock at the door. M

"Neil!" I whisper screamed again.

Still no response.

Another knock.

"H-Hang on!" I called through the door.

I yanked on a pair of underwear and jeans. I rushed over to the door shirtless, uncaring who was there.

"What?!" I whined as I swung the door open.
