As Affan disclosed the news of their marriage, everyone was shocked would be an understatement. Startled, Astonishment, disbelief all together coated their faces as the weight of his words hangs heavy in the air, tugging at the strings of everyone's hearts.

"What the hell are you saying Affan???" As expected Lubna was the first one to react furiously, she couldn't believe her ears that her son could do something secretly like a nikkah and that too without notifying her.

"Maa! Let me explain please!!!" Affan inched close to his mother and tried to grab her hand inorder to calm her down but she yanked him off.

"Don't touch me!!! What's there to explain when you've already done what you wanted to, how could you Affi??" Hurt and disappointment evident in her voice as well as eyes. She had many dreams and plans regarding her one and only son's marriage
which he had shattered brutally.

"Lubna! Atleast give him the chance to explain." Asif tried to convince her.

"Ohh so you're also involved with your son." She stared at her husband with disbelief before turning back towards her son, "Did this girl manipulated you into marriage Affi? acting all innocent and playing the victim card huh? Or were you two that desperate??"

"Mom!!! You want to curse me, you can do it all you want but don't say anything wrong against my wife, I won't tolerate it!!! she's not at fault." That was the last straw for Affan, he could no longer contain his rage as he raised his voice furiously, he had been refraining himself from erupting like a lava but couldn't resist anymore causing Lubna to flinch as she started at him with disbelief. He had never raised his voice at her let alone look at her with such rage filled eyes but today she had forced him to do so by making a mountain out of a molehill instead of letting him explain things.

Hania who had been silent felt her eyes tearing up, her phupho's words piercing through her soul all the way down to her veins of the heart. She had prepared herself to hear all the curses and insults beforehand but still it was hurting her badly. Once again timidness consumed her. Amidst everything she glanced at her parents who had been watching everything unfolding silently, there was no reaction from them however hurt and disappointment could be seen on their faces as well.

"Oye! Say something before things get out of hand." As the situation was intensifying, palpable with thick tension in the air, Zoya nudged Zain, after all he was the root cause of everything happening. He heaved a sigh while nodding and prepared to stand up but Haider beat it to him.

"I got them married, Lubna!!! Now are you gonna curse and fight with me as well??" Everyone snapped their heads towards Haider including Affan and Hania who were equally shocked as others were upon hearing him.

"Baba jaan! You got them married???" Farhan finally broke the silence as he asked to confirm everyone's doubts.

"Yes I did!!!" Haider nodded his head in response.

Zain, who parted his lips to utter something when Haider conveyed him not to interfere and let him handle the situation through his eyes which had him pursuing his lips right away with amusement. He couldn't believe that his grandfather had just saved him from getting into such a huge mess.

If Haider had let Zain reveal that he was the one who got them married even with good intentions, everyone would still turn against him, curse him and blame him which he doesn't want to happen. If his one lie could save his grandchildren from facing humiliation he was willing to lie for them.

"Why???" Lubna looked at her father questioningly, still shocked at the revelation.

"Because they deserve to be together. Two people who love each other dearly with all their heart and soul should end up together for the rest of their lives in a sacred bond of nikkah. Moreover you couldn't see past what your son actually wanted because of your ego and stubbornness. He loved this girl *pointing at Hania* since his childhood, his happiness and solace comes with her but you've always turned an blind eye to it Lubna just because her first marriage hasn't been successful. They have been suffering for years and I could no longer take it so I did what I felt was right for them. I didn't need anyone's permission to hold their nikkah privately. Now whether you guys want to accept their relationship or not that's your problem." Haider expressed leaving everyone yet again speechless
