"ZAIN!!!"

Everyone rushed into the Hospital ward where Zain had been admitted. The news of him being shot had spread like a wildfire and reached their family and there they all hurried to the hospital as soon as they received the news which was enough to crumble their worlds.

"Zain my son!!! How did this happen???" Fariya and Farhan rushed to their son who was half sitting on the hospital bed, his back supported by the headboard and soft pillows while his right shoulder was bandaged all the way to his arm where the bullet had attacked him. His other non injured hand was supported with IV and blood drips for he had lost a huge amount of blood.

Fariya sobbed, embracing her son in her arms after finding him in good health, making sure not to put pressure on his injured shoulder and thanking the Lord millions of times for keeping him safe and sound. She was scared to the wits when she heard he had been shot.

"Maa nothing happened to me, I'm perfectly fine!!!" Zain tried to coax his mother, luckily the bullet had just hit him on the shoulder while protecting Zoya. The shooter had aimed to fire more bullets but the interference of bodyguards at the right time hadn't given him a chance. Two of the guards protected Zain and Zoya while others countered back and tried to catch the shooter but the bastard escaped and they rushed Zain to hospital right away before his condition could deteriorate.

"Yeah, giving us almost a heart attack and being admitted here injured, you're perfectly fine right??" Farhan glared at him while smacking the back of his head. The love and concern for him was hidden behind his facade, earning chuckles from Zain.

"Believe me Baba, it's nothing serious!!!" Except for feeling weakness and bearable pain on his wound, he was in good condition.

"Farhan, don't hit him in this position at least!!! Thanks to Allah nothing serious happened to my chaand." Saniya scolded her son and caressed her grandson's head before kissing his forehead affectionately at which Zain grinned. He always got his grandmother's back.

"Allah ne toh bacha liya isse magr iss badmash ki harkatein bhi koi sahi nahi hain, zaroor koi panga liya hoga kisi se!!!" He rolled his eyes at his grandfather's sarcastic remark. Can he go a day without taunting him? Nah!!!

"It was definitely a murder attempt. Who can do that??" Rehman questioned no one in particular, pondering deeply at it.

"Probably one of the rivals." Zamin answered while sharing a knowing look with Zain.

"Where was the security at that time huh??" Farhan seethed in rage.

"They did save us before the shooter could do more harm to us."

"What about the shooter??"

"He escaped but our men are on it, they'll catch him soon." The men nodded.

"Zoi meri jaan! Let's go home and get you changed." Meera nudged her daughter who had been sitting by Zain's side in complete silence, still shaken by the incident that took place. Her clothes have been smeared with his blood which had dried by now and her overall state was messy and disheveled.

"No!!! I don't wanna go anywhere!!!" Zoya shook her head in denial, scooting closer to her husband, not wanting to leave him alone. She was fearing that if she left him even for a second, she would lose him forever.

"Princess! You can come back after freshening up. Just look at yourself." Rehman tried to persuade her too, concern lacing in his voice but she shook her head again. Fariya gestured to Zain to convince her she'd only listen to him at this point.

"Zoi I'm fine nothing happened to me, go home and come back after changing. I can't see you in this state. I promise when you're back you'll find me right here waiting for you and then we'll leave the hospital together." Zain coaxed her in a gentle tone, squeezing her hand assuringly. His words were like a warm blanket wrapping around her heart.
