Few days later:

Zoya had been sleeping peacefully, curled under the cocoon of the comforter when constant knocking on the door disrupted her beauty sleep. With great struggle, she fluttered her eyes open and dragged her body off the bed and reached the door, rubbing her eyes and yawning. She swung it open to find Fariya there who informed her a death had happened in their extended family and they needed to leave for the funeral.

"Tayi jaan! I don't think I can go yaar. I just got my periods and cramps are hitting me really bad!!! Pay my condolences to them." Zoya exclaimed, clutching her belly. She was barely standing on her legs due to feeling bad cramps all over her body.

"Oho Acha? Alright then rest well, no worries we'll apologize on your behalf." She flashed her mother in law a grateful smile and muttered a thank you while kissing her cheek. Fariya returned the smile and left, kissing her forehead.

Zoya limped back to the bed and slipped under the warmth of the comforter, she dozed off again in no minute without any care of the world.

"Yes Maa??" Zain exited the conference room after finishing the meeting only to receive a call from his mother. He has recovered pretty quickly these days. The wound on his shoulder has healed entirely with proper care and medication. It wasn't really deep in the first place.

"Zain! Saira's husband has passed away. We are leaving to attend the funeral but Zoya ain't going with us. She isn't feeling well because of having periods." Fariya informed him.

"Why are you leaving her alone, maa?? Is no one gonna stay with her??" Zain sounded unpleasant, she wouldn't be alone though, servants and security would be present at home.

"That's why I called you, wind up your work and get back home soon. Also inform Zamin and tell him to reach Saira's house. We need one of you there."

"Alright!!!" With that Zain hung up the call and turned to Arham who had been standing next to him, waiting to receive any order.

"Cancel all the further meetings and postpone them to tomorrow. I'm going home." He ordered him, who nodded and made his way to Zamin's office.

"Aunty, where is Zoya?? Isn't she coming along with us???"

Everyone was on the porch, settling into the cars when Minal questioned Meera, upon noticing the absence of Zoya.

"No dear, she is asleep. It's her time of month." Meera replied.

Minal's lips formed in an o shape listening to her. Just then something strikes in her evil mind as she exclaimed instantly, slapping her forehead, "Ohh I just forgot my phone in the room. I'll be back in a jiffy."

With that she rushed inside and stopped at the corner. Scanning her surroundings keenly making sure no one was seeing her, she retrieved her phone from her purse which she hadn't forgotten in the room. It was just an excuse. She dialed to Adeel and informed him about the current situation that they can execute their plan right now. She instructed him what to do and he agreed to it as they had decided on that night. She had heard Fariya talking to Zain, he'd be coming home soon and this was their opportunity to strike their target.

After talking with him, Minal heads to Zoya's room and sneaks inside like a thief. The lights had been switched off, dim sun rays were peeking from the windows framed with curtains. Zoya was sleeping soundly covered entirely under the comforter. Minal darts her eyes around the room, searching for her phone. After a lot of struggling to find it in the darkness, she finally spotted her phone on the bedside table and tiptoed towards it.
