Victoria's nails tapped tentatively playing out a rhythmic tale of turmoil onto the glass of her dining room table. Her other hand was occupied by her pearly white teeth as she anxiously chewed at her nails. Her eyes shifted from beside her to an enraged John seated across. His nostrils flared as he glared at the woman next to Victoria. The woman's demeanor completely opposing his own, as she leaned back comfortably in her chair, legs crossed and arm propped on the back of her seat.

She analyzed her own nails in bored disinterest, jolting only when Victoria's barefoot lightly kicked the girl, urging her to speak. The woman sighed heavily, lazily meeting the eyes of one of her least favorite people. "Look, it's not a big deal—"

"You married my FIANCÉ!" John spat.

"Girlfriend" she corrected. "And it's not like I kissed her... this time." she added shrugging nonchalantly. John's glare intensified, a growl escaping his lips at the smug expression on the woman's face. Victoria hastily pinched at her thigh, desperately attempting to keep the girl on the right track of this rather difficult conversation. Throwing the woman a look Victoria wordlessly pleaded with her, something the woman normally would have disregarded but in light of the rather unpleasant circumstances... well, unpleasant looking John, she settled for rolling her eyes. Plastering a faux smile onto her face, she adjusted her demeanor, now sitting tall with her hand's studiously clasped together atop of the table. She leaned forward. "Like I was saying.. it's not a big deal" she continued to insist through gritted teeth, "we can just get an annulment." Victoria nodded hurriedly in agreement looking between them "Yeah, babe, there's no need to worry about it" she added grasping for the man's hand.

"You better" he seethed completely ignoring Victoria's attempt to soothe him as he pointed at the woman, "and it better be over by the end of this week." He further declared, his words seeped with venomous intent. The woman couldn't help but roll her eyes again, a sound of disgust and annoyance rolling off her tongue like a second language. John slammed his hands against the table, standing tall as he gripped the edges. An animalistic snarl left him, cutting through the air like a predatory warning before an attack, however, instead of a follow through he stormed off. Victoria blinked releasing the breath she held as she called after him in notable distress.

"Reah!?" Victoria snapped turning to the woman who remained unphased by John's  tantrum. "What??" Victoria sat back in defeat taking a few deep breathes as she tried to regain her sense of control before speaking. "I know you don't like him but.. you could've have at least been nice."

Reah roughly sucked at her teeth, her arms crossing defensively across her chest. "That was me being nice" she emphasized with a small roll of her neck.  "Well then be nicer." Victoria emphasized shaking the girl by her folded arms. "You know... you're asking a lot from someone you didn't even take on a honeymoon." Reah teased. She leisurely uncrossed her arms, nonchalantly leaning onto the table as she sunk her head into the palm of her hand. Her gaze withdrew from its glass surface, observing the scowl that now painted Victoria's face as a soft knowing smile graced her own. This time Victoria rolled her eyes. Though she wasn't surprised by Reah's lack of seriousness, as it was one of the many things she enjoyed about the girl, she just never cared for her timing or lack of decorum. Even with that in mind and the mild annoyance she felt, Victoria had to admit she was lightly amused by the woman's antics and even if she didn't admit it the ghost of a smile she couldn't seem to contain did it for her. Unfortunately, the brief sentiment couldn't stop the catastrophic thoughts that began to surface in Victoria's mind.

Her leg began to bounce profusely as she once again became lost in thought. Reah took notice of the small internal conflict that began to arise in the girl as well as the shift in the air. It was further confirmed by the subconscious sigh that escaped her lips. "What's up, V?" Reah probed in hopes that the girl would begin to openly express her thoughts. "I just hope..." she began, her words trailing off as she drifted back into her mind-scape. Her fingers drifted back to her mouth as she chewed on her thoughts and acrylics.

Reah reached out, placing a calming hand on her jittering knee and pulled Victoria's focus from her spiraling mind to her instead.  "Hey.." she softly urged, removing Victoria's hand from her oral assault, "we might not remember exactly how this happened... but we do know that we have a way to get out of it, ok?" A helpless looking Victoria slowly nodded, absorbing the comforting words of the woman as she continued to intently listened. "I'll contact my lawyer today and we'll get this all worked out, so don't stress about it too much." Reah reassured, lightly squeezing the hand she now held. "Promise?" Victoria whispered softly, a small pout on her full lips and a hopeful twinkle in her doubtful doe-like eyes. Reah instinctively nodded. "Promise."
