"Abby, your phone is ringing!" Damon yelled while I was in the bathroom. "Who does it say?" I asked. "Nana." He answered. "I'll get it." Olivia said and hushed everyone. I couldn't hear what was going on. All I knew was she answered the phone. "Okay. I'll let her know." I heard Olivia say. "What's going on?" I asked and stepped out of the bathroom. Olivia burst into tears. "What's wrong?" I asked and hugged her. "Your sister, Savannah. She's dead." Olivia sobbed. My heart sank. No, not sank, crashed. My head was spinning. I felt Johnnie's arms on me. I pushed away from everyone and ran out the door. I ran until my feet hurt. I pushed past people in the street. I heard "Watch it!" and "Rude!" As I ran past people. Before I knew it I was standing in front of a bar. I looked in my pockets and I had my phone, some cash, and my fake ID. I walked in. The bartender asked for my ID and I gave it to him. "You look like you need this." He said and slid me a shot of whiskey. "Thanks." I said and threw it back. "I'll keep track of what you get and you pay before you leave." He said with a pat on my arm. "Thanks." I said again. I walked to a dark hallway and cried. "Hey cutie. What's the tears for?" A guy said and approached me. "None of your damn business.". I growled. "Can I get you a drink?" He asked taken back. "Yes." I said just wanting another drink. Before I knew it I was drunk as hell. "Baby wanna go to bed with me?" An ugly guy asked trying to take advantage of my drunken state. "I just wanna ice cream." I said and stubbled around. I walked until I slammed into the bar. I fell down and laughed. I couldn't feel anything. That was how I wanted it. I laid in the floor until someone picked me up and tried to force me to dance on them. "Come home with me." He said and slid his hand near my shorts button. "That's gross." I giggled and stumbled away. Hours past as I stumbled around and threw back shot after shot. "Abby!" I heard a girls voice yell. "Abby!" I heard louder but from a guy. I was laying down in a booth slap drunk. I felt hands pick me up. I was being carried out of the door. The person carrying me was breathing like they were having anxiety. "You scared the shit out of me." The voice said and then I heard sounds of cars. A car door opened and I was placed in the back. I laid across the back until someone lifted my head and put it in there lap. "I drank whisky." I giggled. "No shit." I heard a girl's voice. I couldn't see straight to look at anyone. I felt safe. "Don't do that again dammit." The boy who rubbed my hair didn't sound mad. "Yes sir." I giggled again. "Is she okay?" I heard a different guy's voice ask. "She will be okay in the morning." The one who held me said. "Hung over definitely." A different voice laughed. "It's not funny." The one who held me tight snapped.
"What happened?" I asked as I woke up with the worst feeling I ever had. "You got drunk." Johnnie said and handed me olive juice. "Thanks." I said and sat up. I drank some and sat it down. "I'm sorry about your sister." He said and sat beside me. Savannah. I burst into tears and he scooted beside me and held me. "I have to get home." I said after a while of being held. "I know." He said and rubbed my back. "What happened to her?" I asked and choked on my words. He held me tighter. "I wish it didn't happen." He said in a worried tone. "Tell me." I said in tears. "She was shot. A racist on rage in Walmart shot three people." He said slowly. I cried harder. Olivia came in the room. "Abby, your dad is on the phone."
