[Rody's pov]

I start to wake up. My eyes slowly open as i start sitting up. I looked around for a clock, 6:30 𝑎𝑚... shit. I have to work soon. I properly sit up as i see Vincent walking down the hallway to the kitchen. He's all dressed in his work uniform. "Get up Rody. You have to serve customers soon. And fix that bloody birds nest of a hair." I move to the edge of the sofa and walk to the kitchen. "S-sorry Vince! Uhm, i dont have my uniform with me..." Vincent already looks pissed off that i even stayed the night. "Ugh, we have a spare uniform in my office for people like you who forget things." vincent says with a glare. "Oh, uhm thank you?" i hesitatingly say. My stomach starts growling. It's very loud, so if i can hear it, Vincent can too. "...fine. Would you like something to eat?" he says hesitatingly. "Oh, uhm are you sure? I don't want to be a bother!-" Vincent grabs a plate, some bread and butter, before i can further say anything he puts the bread in the toaster and prepares the butter. "I can't have you serving customers on an empty stomach. Your growling will upset them and make 𝐦𝐞 lose more money." He gives me the plate with toast and grabs his keys to leave the apartment. "Eat it on the go because we're already running late." I trail after him like a little dog as we leave the apartment to start work.

[Vincent's pov]

As me and Rody walk to the restaurant, i start to think. 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑙 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑡 𝑛𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡. It must have been so weird for him for his boss to let him stay the night at his place. 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑖 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔? I was a little drunk last night sure, but i was way to soft on him. Now he might think i have crush on him. 𝐼 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑛 𝑖 𝑑𝑜 𝑏𝑢𝑡, 𝑖 𝑑𝑜𝑛'𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 ℎ𝑖𝑚 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑢𝑡. I need to be my usual harsh self on him again. He can't suspect anything.

We enter La Gueule De Saturne. I lead him to the office where i get the spare uniform from the cupboard. "Don't lose it. You can give it back to me tomorrow." I give him the uniform while he goes to the bathroom to change. As the cooks start arriving, and so do the guests, the place starts to get ready for a new day.

[Rody's pov]

𝐹𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑒𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑚𝑦 𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑓𝑡. I fold up the uniform and walk to Vincent's office to return it. I knock on the door as i hear him say: "Come in." I open the door slightly and walk in, shutting it behind me. "Hey Vince! I just wanted to return the uniform!" i say as i hold it up. "Just put it on my desk Rody." he says while reading what seems to be the newspaper. "Whatcha reading?" i say trying to start some conversation. "Reviews about the restaurant, so far it's going smoothly. Apart from when you by accident spilt red wine on the mayor's wife." He gives me a hard glare. One that burns into the back of your eyes. "Ohh...uhm...sorry heh...." i sheepishly say while rubbing the back of my neck. He turns back to his newspaper as i just stand there. "Oh, i uh wanted to thank you again for the chocolates you got me for my birthday, it..really means a lot to me." He turns his head around looking a little flustered but eventually replies: "Oh! Uhm, it was nothing. I hope you enjoy them..." He mutters the last part. "Go home Rody, i need to close up." He puts the newspaper away and stand up from his chair. "Alright! See you tomorrow Vince!" i say as i ope his office door and close it behind me.

One i get back to my apartment i fall down onto the sofa. Once i sit down i realise.. 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑎𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑚𝑦 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑓𝑡, 𝑖 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑔𝑜𝑡 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑀𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑛!  𝑆ℎ𝑒 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭'𝐯𝐞 𝑡𝑜 𝑤𝑖𝑠ℎ 𝑚𝑒 𝑎 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦 𝑏𝑖𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑑𝑎𝑦! I excitedly grab the phone and dial Manon's number. I wait for the line to connect, my face slowly drops as the line keeps on ringing, and ringing, and ringing. 𝑆ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑖𝑑𝑛'𝑡 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑤𝑖𝑠ℎ 𝑚𝑒 𝑎 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦 𝑏𝑖𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑑𝑎𝑦... 𝐼 𝑔𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑖𝑡'𝑠 𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛.  She hasn't called me back in months, i haven't seen her in ages. Realisation hit me. Me and Manon are over.

All my emotions start reaching the surface. I start to cry as i think about all the attempts of contacting her, all the money i've saved up to take her on a date, everything i've done. After about an hour of crying on the couch i decide to use some of the money to buy some vodka. I feel like i need to wash my tears away with some alcohol. I go down to the shop's and buy a bottle of alcohol. A couple of hours go by, the bottle is almost empty. I'm just sitting there, bottle in hand staring into the distance. I keep having the sudden urge to do something, but it's like my body is stopping me from doing it. My mind takes over. I place the bottle on the table and walk out the door.

[Vincent's pov]

Its around 11:30 pm at night as i suddenly hear knocking on the door. I was busy reading a book as i suddenly got interrupted. 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑦 𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑠 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑡𝑟𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑚𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑡 𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑚. I unlock the door and open it. "Look, whatever you're trying to sell me i'm not going to buy-" My words got cut off as i see a familiar face standing there. "Rody? What are you doing here? Its almost midnight." He looks like he's been crying. And do i smell... alcohol on him? "Rody, have you been drinkin-" before i can say anything else, he leans forward towards me, and kisses me gently against my door.

[Rody's pov]

The urge has been fulfilled.
