[Opposites Attract]

Life was boring.

Tyler didn't have much to do. His hours consisted of editing unpublished videos from months ago and trying to pass them off as recent, and distracting himself with unnecessarily long cleaning sprees around the apartment. He even attempted moaning and groaning at the thought of paying the full rent that month because of Mitch's absence.

Kyle couldn't even help the poor boy, lost without his best friend by his side.

He was terrified of unwanted feelings rising when Mitch left him, but it was just the desperate need for another soul to roam the streets of NYC that overcame him. And who other than Mitchell Hughes?

Tyler also didn't want to receive an abrupt call in the midst of a rendering session only to be told Mitch was found dead, for good this time.

Okay, that definitely topped him being alone temporarily. He wouldn't know what to do with himself if Mitch was actually gone forever. Aimlessly wander the endless-seeming Earth in search for someone who could fully replace the hole in his heart that Mitchell left? Or merely off himself as well, that way he could be in the same place as him? Heaven? Hell? Limbo? Oblivion? It didn't matter to him.

On the seventh day, a week after he returned to Montreal, Kyle made the conscious decision to give his mourning boyfriend advice.

"Remember that film and writing stuff I was talking about the other day?"

Tyler sighed, holding the phone in between his shoulder and ear while he loaded the dishwasher, "I can't go to college that easily. I need real money and an application and so much more. Plus, I'm perfectly fine -"

"With being a house husband?"

"What?" Tyler furrowed his eyebrows, washing a cup and lining it up with the others, "I'm not a house husband."

"Yes, you are. You're the traditional, whiny house husband with a partner who's always on business trips and bitching about your bitching behind your back."

"He's not my 'partner', Kyle. You are."

Kyle chuckled and nodded himself, "It's just metaphorical. And true. You need to get out more and find something that's not Windex, that makes you happy."

"Well, you make me happy." Tyler grinned and closed the dishwasher. Kyle blushed, leaning back in his chair, "So, what? You want to come to Chicago or something?"
