“Ugh…” I groaned out loud hearing my annoying alarm clock on the bedside table. Reaching out to it blindly, I hit the snooze button. Hoping it wouldn’t bother me anymore. But of course, my 5 minutes of peace had to be disturbed by the damn alarm clock. Again.
Slowly I opened my eyes, only to shut them again when the sun light was blinding me. Great, Mrs. Murray was already here. Judging by the open curtain. What was her deal? She rarely speaks to any of us.
Natasha Bedingfield’s Pocketful of Sunshine was blasting in my room. It was the sound of my alarm. I used to love that song. Until I had to hear it every morning. Waking me up whether I like it or not. But still, I didn’t change it for some odd unknown reason.
Eventually I woke up but still sitting on my bed, stretching my arms as I yawned. Just because I was up that didn’t mean I had to leave the comfort my bed provided me so soon, right? Besides, I don’t have a morning class anyway. Didn’t know what to do anymore, I finally got up from the bed. Grabbing my silky white bed rope then put it on; I walked over to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Once I was done, I took a peak to Meg’s room only to found that her bed was already empty. Our rooms were connected by the bathroom. You know, like Blair and Serena’s rooms in Gossip Girl.
“That was unusual.” I murmured, closing the door then walked back into my own room. Meg and I, we’re not really a morning person.
I walked out of my room, decided to go downstairs to have a breakfast. As I walked past Chuck’s bedroom, I could hear his voice. It seemed like he was on the phone. This was weird because Chuck never woke up before 9. Unless there was something important came up.
Being the nosy person that I am, I decided to stick around to find out what Chuck was up to. Eavesdropping on Chuck had became Meg and mine habit. It’s our job to anyway. You know, the thing that sisters do to their brothers?
I crouched down, peeping through the key hole. Trying to see what my big brother was doing. From what I saw, he was on talking to someone on the phone. Probably one of his girlfriends. I straightened myself, but then pressed my ear on his bedroom door. Tried to make out what was it that he was talking about. But I couldn’t hear it clearly though, thanks to the thick wooden door.
“Hey sis, what’s up?” Meg came towards me with two glasses of orange juice. Instead of answering her, I grabbed the glass she was handing me and finished it down in one gulp. Yes, I was that curious and excited to eavesdropping on Chuck! I used the now empty glass so that I could hear better by pressing the other side on the door and put my ear on the bottom side. I’ve seen people did it in movies, but I’ve never tried it myself. Well not until now.
Meg was now as enthusiastic as I am. I could see it on her face.
“Did you get to hear anything?” Meg asked me.
