Meg

“I’m so sorry Meg” Josh mumbled to me through our Digital Art class.

I raised my eyebrow at him, not believing the sentence he said before he apologized.

“You can’t drive me today?”

He nodded reluctantly.

“Come on Josh” I half whined to him, “I have a photo assignment I need to do today. I need you to drive me there”

“I’m really sorry, but I need to take my sister out today. My mom would kill me if I stood her up.”

I sighed as his face got even more pathetic to my eyes. It’s the 3rd day I have to go through without my car, and it sucks, badly.

I usually had Josh or sometimes Chuck to drive me around, though the later clearly stated that his service is only for emergency conditions. And he almost exploded once when I asked him to drive me. But it’s not my fault he lost another one of his new girlfriend.

Well, I did give his new cheerleader girlfriend a dash of popularity by making her hair minty green thought. On my defense; that’s what he deserves for taking his stupid cheerleader girlfriend on a ride with me. You wouldn’t believe what I saw that time, all the horror!!

Anyways, I sighed at the tough of having to ride a bus to where I’m going. It’s not really that far, but I hate to walk at night.

“And Meg…” Josh started, fidgeting nervously, “My photo theme is popular girls… I was wondering if you’d be willing to, you know… become my model or something”

I frowned at the thought. I mean, I love cameras! A lot! But only when I’m behind it. I ‘m not a model material! And besides, I’m not popular!!

“Are you mistaking me for my sister?”

Josh looked at me with disbelief, “Uh… No!”

“Then, No!” I answered hastily. He of all people should know how much I hate being a model.

“Oh come on!” he pleaded, “You don’t need to pose or anything! I just need to take an everyday picture of you”

I rolled my eyes, like I would believe that! “Don’t you have any other girl to model?”

“Sadly, no! I don’t have anyone. And besides, you’re the only one I know who’s popular enough to suit my theme”

I kept silent for a second, I know I’m probably popular, but not in a good way. I’m popular as in the ‘Oh no! That girl is gonna kill me!!’ or the ‘That girl scares the life out of me’ kind of way, rather than the ‘look at the outfits she wears today’ way. But that gave me some idea.

“How ‘bout I ask Jo to model for you? She’s popular, and she loves having her picture taken.”

This time, it was Josh who frowned. “I don’t think I can” he mumbles slowly, “She scares me. I think she’s almost as scary as your brother.”

“Seriously Josh?! You’re scared of my sister, the walking Malibu Barbie?!” Josh nodded.

I raised my eyebrow at him. Well, Malibu girls like Jo sure can frighten people to some extent. I’m sure a certain girl named Lucy still hides in the bush every time Jo and Becky pass by, but it still feels weird to hear that.

“Don’t worry” I assured him, “She won’t bite. I guess.”

“Meg! Not helping!” he groaned at my words.
