Heeseung POV:

"Heeseung you can't go! You'll kill yourself out there!" My jaw clenches as I watched my wife tug on my arm, trying to refrain me from leaving. "You're being impetuous!" As I watched her tears fall, I glimpsed the sorrow in her eyes, filled with lugubrious intensity. The act of I, going into this bloody war, all she could feel was trepidation.

"My dear, I have to go! To save these people, my country, and...you. They would take over and we will be stuck here worshipping some narcissistic dictator." I cupped her face with my hands as I wiped her tears with my thumbs. My heart breaks when she's looking like this. Every heartbeat echoes with a dull ache, as if my heart is being crushed beneath the weight of sorrow.

"You're my remedy. I will fight for you and our future. I love you, my Y/n. You're my will, the reason of my bravery, you're my everything." The words of my love triggered my own sorrow, and tears welled up in my eyes. I hate that I have to leave her like this, scared and alone. In this perilous conflict, I find myself unable to ascertain a single fact that ensures my safety.

I kissed her lips with a bittersweet savor. My fingers touched her hair when I rested my hand on her neck, as our tears filled our faces with a melancholy feeling. I broke the kiss and I stared at her with aching eyes, filled with overwhelming affection and the bittersweet taste of our shared longing.

"I love you Heeseung." Her words recapitulated in my head as I slowly detached my hand from her neck. I grasped her hand and kissed her wedding ring before saying, "I love you too, my dearest Y/n." Turning around, I headed towards the door, as I heard her lamenting behind me. The depth of my emotions was ineffable; words failed to capture the intensity of what I was feeling.
