Heeseung POV:
"Holy shit!" I dashed to a nearby trench with Jay and Jungwon as the North Korean Soldiers shoot at us. Adrenaline races through my veins, and my mind spirals not knowing what to do. I glance at Jungwon and he looks absolutely petrified.
"Jungwon I got you. Breathe buddy, we'll make it." I observe as Jongseong grips onto Jungwons shoulders, reassuring him and attempting to soothe him while trying to instill some hope.
"Alright, I'm good. Commander said we have to reach the truck and take it back. It's filled with their weapons. Let's just...go." I heavily sigh, as I kissed my wedding ring for luck. "Dear God, save me." I whispered as I tagged along Jungwon and Jongseong.
We fled for our lives, engaged in the combat and firing our weapons to reach the truck, I endeavored to minimize the casualties. Despite the chaos, a sense of sympathy welled within me. With each soldier I shot, I clenched my jaw mindful of my duty to protect my comrades.
"Heeseung! We're in!" Jungwon's urgent call snapped my attention, prompting me to hasten towards the truck. A wave of relief washed over me, knowing we have achieved our objective. All that remained was the drive back.
I ran with everything I had to that truck. One step closer to winning. One step closer to home. Just as I neared the truck, a deafening gunshot echoed from my left side, followed by a searing pain through my waist. I collapsed to the ground in immense pain and let out a gut wrenching scream."Oh fuck!"
I looked up and my gaze focused on Jungwon and Jongseong. Jungwons face was filled with agony, as he hurried out the vehicle and fled towards me shouting my name. I raised my blurry gaze trying to fixate the figure. Suddenly, I see blood splatter from Jungwons side. One, two, three, four shots. Witnessing him fall to the ground, my heart only pounded with a slower rate. Last thing I heard was Jongseong's gun firing, with a tormented scream.
