"Get me a t-shirt." It was a simple command. But for some reason, it made my heart skip. For some reason, I felt so hot, and my lower lips felt the need to be touched. To be tortured. To be loved.

Get a grip, Lily. Just give him the goddam tee and get out of here.

"Lily?" My name rolls out of his full lips.

"Yes, sir. Right away." I respond, almost breathless.

"Come here." He says just when I get past him. As if my legs have a mind of his own, I walk and stand in front of his shirtless body. Heat radiating from his body, the same colonge from before still strong. I take in a deep breath as I watch him. I know he can feel my gaze on him. For some reason, this makes everything ten times more intense.

"I don't like repeating myself. I tell you something,  you do it immediately. Do I make myself clear?" His breath hits my face, peppermint. He definitely just brushed his teeth.

"Yes, sir." I reply.

"Now be a good employee and do what I asked." I move  and start walking into the closet I had just cleaned about an hour ago. I walk to the section that I remember seeing about a hundred tees in black or white. I pick out a black one and walk back to his room. I find him sitting on the white couch.

"Here is your shirt, sir." I announce myself even though I know he knew I was there. Without thinking, I walk towards him and try to help him, but he holds my arm, stopping me.

"Leave." He jerks my hands away from him as if it's some leech. I don't respond as I turn and walk to the door. I open and leave without looking back.

"Oh, what you long dear?" Mrs. Washburn asks as soon I join her in the kitchen. I find that she's served a plate of steaming hot pasta.

"Mr. Lauder needed help to find a shirt." I answer, trying not to show my annoyance. Of what, really?

"He did?" She seems genuinely shocked as I nod. "Well, eat up as we talk about your duties."

"Oh, there's no need. I ate before coming here."

"Well, I called you at a ridiculous time and made you clean the apartment when you've not even started officially. This is a token of my apologies and appreciation for the work well done." She lets out a small smile. I nod at that. I move the plate to my side and take a bite, and suddenly release a short moan.

"This is the best pasta I've eaten in years." I smile, but suddenly, something hits. Pasta has always been my favorite because dad made it best. I never ate pasta as good as his until now. Mrs. Washburn taps my arm, accepting the compliment.

"So, I've been Mr. Lauder's personal assistant since he was two. I was his nanny then, but he got older, made his own money, and asked me to continue being there for him. Only with this ridiculous title." She says, smiling fondly.

"Well, I'll be retiring in a week after training you in everything that needs to be done." I nod, listening as I chew on the goodness.

"There's a maid who comes in every three days and cleans the house, so you don't have to worry about that. Mr. Lauder travels a lot, so everything should be easy. You can cook, si?" She asks, and for a second, I could hear an accent.

"Not five star, or this mama's star, but I can be a decent cook."

"Mama's star?"

"Five star is cooked in good hotels, but this, this is food from a mother to her baby. It's so delicious." I give her a chef's kiss, making her laugh.

"You, my dear, are something else." She laughs, and I smile. This woman is practically a mother to Luka Lauder. "Now, Mr. Lauder has a few rules that you need to stick to, and you'll be fine." Time continues as we talk until late into the night.

"Oh, look at the time. It's almost one am. You'll sleep in the guest room and be driven to your house tomorrow morning.  You've really helped me since Lucy went to visit her mother."

"Lucy?"

"The maid who cleans here. You'll learn more as time goes." She gets up from her seat and tries to take my place, but I refuse. I wash the plate and go to the guest room where I find everything I need a part from a change of clothes. So, I decide to sleep in the bathrobe.

Sleep easily comes since it's  way past my bedtime. I sleep while thinking about the interactions I've had with my new boss.

The next day...

I get into the apartment only to find an anxious Kristy looking at her phone.

"Where were you?" She starts. "You left in a hurry, you haven't been answering my texts, I called you like eighty times..."

"I was at work." I stop her rumbling.

"Work?" I sigh as I sit.

"Yeah, apparently, I won't be working in the country club."  Kristy gives me a confused look.

"You got a new job? Just tell me everything, woman!" She sits next to me.

"I'm Mr. Lauder's PA." I start but soon get cut off.

"What! How? Why?" I almost laugh at Kristy's face. "The Luka Lauder? Or one of his cousins?"

"The first one." I didn't know her bulbous eyes could grow any bigger. "Yeah, that day, I ran to him and helped him." Kristy doesn't blink. One, two, three seconds pass.

"Kristy?"

"Wait, I'm processing." I nod, giving her time. And by time, I literally mean two seconds. "How could you keep this crucial information from me?" She shouts, making me jump a bit.

" NDA?" I ask, unsurely making her huff while rolling her eyes. "He said that if I talk about it, he'd sue me. He threatened me." I lie, making her roll her eyes again and muttering something about rich dudes and their insane egos. I give her an innocent look in return.

"So what did they need you for?" I tell her everything. Well, almost. Kristy almost faints when she realises I slept in the same house as the most eligible bachelor.  Of course,  I leave out the shirt parts and, most importantly, the blind part. Rose, Mrs Washburn, warned me specifically about it.

"Wait, you're going to live with him?" I nod.

"As from Monday."

"Shit!"
