Blair POV.

"You're lying to me." Annoyed, George checks his phone.

"It's true." I shrug, "My period is always on time, but it's a week late this time."

His gaze shifts from the phone screen to my face, then he picks up his clothes and gets out of bed, "I'll call a doctor to check on you now."

"I'm 100 percent pregnant. You can check the condoms in the drawer; I poked holes in every single one."

George turns to look at me, and after a long time, he finally asks, "Why?"

His incredulous expression almost makes me laugh, "Isn't the ultimate pursuit of life freedom? What makes you think you can just lock me up here?"

"Of course," I put on my pajamas and button up, "you can also tell your mother that I'm carrying your child. She'll probably call me 'a whore, just like your mother, always seducing men' or something, and then shoot me dead. But I don't care, the result is the same as being trapped here."

"Or maybe I'm lucky enough not to get shot, but your fiancée finds out and then refuses to marry you. Either way, the choice is yours."

George's chest heaves violently.

Mrs. Mary is still in the capital attending the government council. This night, I wear a turtleneck sweater to cover the hickeys on my neck, and then go with George to the Emerson old mansion to wait for the Antonio family.

The moment I see Antonio, I notice he looks a bit haggard. While his parents enthusiastically shake hands with my foster father, I naturally sit next to Antonio and hook my hand around his.

My foster father frowns, "Show some manners, sit back here."

Antonio's mother smiles, "They are sweet."

Antonio quietly asks me, "What's going on?"

On the table lies my medical report, showing that I'm three weeks pregnant. He picks up the black and white paper, looking a bit bewildered; I tug at his sleeve.

Antonio's parents notice our little interaction and laugh, "It's our 30th wedding anniversary this year. Let's announce the good news of our families' union at the banquet. Blair's belly isn't obvious yet, so you two should quickly register your marriage and hold a wedding."

Suddenly, my palms start sweating.

I don't look at George's expression and ask the three parents present if I can have a private talk with Antonio.

They nod, and I immediately pull Antonio upstairs into a guest room.

"Is that report real?" Antonio asks as soon as I close the door.

"...Yes."

He looks at me incredulously, "Whose child is it?"

I remain silent. He asks, "Did someone force you?"

"No." I can't bring myself to say that George locked me in a basement and raped me, so I just smile at him and make up a reason, "It was a one-night stand, I don't know who the man was."

"Are you sure?" He looks at me suspiciously.

I nod, "You know how strict the Emerson family rules are, especially my foster mother. I'm out of options, so I had to turn to you..."

"Do you want to keep this child?" Antonio asks.

"Of course not, I originally planned to get an abortion secretly."

I continue making up reasons, my brain cells burning wildly at this moment, "But my brother found out, I can't hide it anymore. Antonio, please help me."
