19. His strange ways of Treatment

Dadaji used to treat patients with all his heart and soul. His main objective was to cure the disease by any means possible. For this, he even sometimes adopted some strange methods. I would like to draw your attention to some surprising methods he used for cure.

✨Granny's skin disease

Once Dadaji explained to me the importance of 'Sheetala Ashtami' when I denied going to the temple under the pretext of studying. Actually I had been feeling a fever since the previous night, and to walk there and to be back home on foot, I felt a little tiring which Dadaji didn't have any idea about. He assumed that being lazy I was refusing to go. When he got the real reason he said -

"It's okay. But you should never deny worshipping goddess Sheetala. If you don't find yourself going to the temple, worship at home but never skip."

Shitala, Indian goddess of smallpox and of other infectious diseases, is worshipped throughout the regions of South Asia in which Indo-Aryan languages are spoken. She is an incarnation of Goddess Durga, who saves people from various diseases like chicken-pox, smallpox, measles, and other heat-borne diseases.

She is both the cause of the disease and the cure. In Indian culture we celebrate Sheetala Ashtami on the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha (Waning Moon), in the Hindu month of Chaitra.

Dadaji explained its importance by telling me about granny's once occurred skin disease. He said that my grandma once was infected with some kind of pox in which her skin had small knot type marks around her neck. Dadaji gave her the best remedies, but it wasn't being cured by any means.

He then next thought of Goddess Sheetla and started worshiping her for granny by chanting her stuti (praying) daily. Later on it started improving gradually. And thus granny got rid of those marks permanently. And Dadaji proved that there are many different methods for treatment other than medication.

📍I don't have any idea what stuti did Dadaji do to cure granny but I found this piece on Google from Skand-Puran.

I might had not believed him if I myself, hadn't been cured in a similar way when he gave me treatment other than medicinal, which I'm gonna describe further in this chapter.

👽 Spirit Possession

So often Dadaji had to handle the cases of spirit possessions. As I've mentioned that Dadaji used to cure his patients by every possible mean. In that manner sometimes people came to him with some ghost issues and Dadaji suggested them some mantras or some worship methods.
