Long time no see! No, this isn't a new chapter for Suikoden VI but I didn't know where else to put this. Several people have asked me if I would consider writing a Suikoden VII fanfic. I was on the fence about it, but after thinking about it for a long time I decided this:
YES.
I am in the process developing Suikoden VII! I am still developing the Tablet of Stars but the overall story has been outlined. As it stands right now, the first chapter of Suikoden VII will be posted on 9/1/2024. I know that's a bit of ways out, but I'm still ironing out the story and I want to make sure that it's completely good to go before I start posting. I plan on being on a regular update schedule with this story, and I absolutely do not intend on taking 8 years to finish this story. I'm taking precautions to ensure that I don't lose this data the way I lost my Suikoden VI data, so with any luck it will take me less than 2 years to finish this story.
Though the story is still in development, there are some details I can share with you now. They include:
- The story is a direct sequel to my Suikoden VI fanfic, and takes place in the year IS 486 (so 7 years after the end of my Suikoden VI fanfic).
- The setting for the fanfic is the Zelant Kingdom.
- The Tenkai Star for this story is a young woman; the youngest legitimate daughter of Zelant's king.
- The native species of Zelant in this story will be humans, elves, kobolds, and pixies (new species).
- HQ will be an entire town (suggested by Raynos3497).
- Daunte will be making an appearance in the story.
- The "humanizing Yuber" subplot of Suikoden VI will be continued here.
- Viktor returns to the series.
- Zerase returns to the series (thanks to f4tl0l).
- The Tenkai Star will have a minor romantic subplot.
There will also be polls for reader participation on fanfiction.net as with Suikoden VI, but I'm also very open to feedback in the lead-up to posting this story. If you have any thoughts about these points (or want to contribute your own ideas) feel free to leave a review or send me a PM. I'll try to respond to everyone as quickly as I can.
