Cona woke with a splitting headache in her bed at the Aerie. She put her hand to her aching forehead and saw the golden cuff still on her wrist. If she understood him right, the Leader had used the last of his power to make sure they wouldn't come off after he was gone. What a hateful, spiteful thing to do! But what could she expect from evil? As she mentally noted the various pieces around her limbs, they felt warmer than before, though. Hopefully that meant they were merely jewelry she couldn't remove, and no longer marks tying her to the Shadows. The Shadows were gone!

"Oh hey, you're awake," Mara said from across the room, crocheting.

"What time is it? And what day, I guess?" Cona asked.

Mara thought about it, "It's maybe nine a.m. the day after the battle."

"What's happened to everyone?"

"Michael's gonna want to tell you most of it, but I can probably tell you about the battle. After you two were taken, Khloe, Alex and I led the troops to the castle. We landed on the south-west corner and spread up the side from there. Along the line, the minions suddenly changed shape from humans back to the blobs we were used to. Didn't really change the fight much, and we were making good progress. Then they all just... disappeared. Something like ten minutes later, Michael came flying from the other side of the castle carrying you, and he said the battle was over."

"The Draiks went home?"

"You're... gonna want to talk to Michael," Mara hedged.

Cona didn't like the sound of that. She rolled out of bed and headed for the door. She noted on the way that the long cut on her arm had been healed. She opened the door and heard a lot more noise than she had grown accustomed to in the last week and a half. She couldn't see anything in particular except a male Angel standing near the door. When he noticed her, he came over.

"Primary Archangel, the Archangel and the Steward need to meet with you immediately. They have asked that you wait in the library while I fetch them for you."

Cona sighed. She finished the prophecy; did they still have to call her that? "Okay, thank you."

She walked to the library and entered without knocking. Daniel was not inside, and his materials were cleaned away. She hoped he had at least left of his own free will. She chose a stool and sat down to wait. A few minutes passed, and Andrew entered, followed by Michael only a few moments later.

"So, what's going on?" Cona asked.

Michael started, "The overall gist is the humans are in an uproar. It seems multiple things have happened: they saw the pillar of light that called the Draiks and a few security cameras have it on tape; unsurprisingly, some could hear your speech to the Draiks and a couple recorded most of it; also no surprise but the army flying out was seen by basically everybody; the 'news' sent people to follow our army, not in a helicopter so we didn't notice, but in a van, and they filmed some of the battle and the disappearance of the minions when we defeated the Leader; And lastly, the Draiks are returning to the Aerie, reporting that they can't return to their homes without the humans bothering them unlike they ever have before."

Andrew interrupted, "We are trying to house as many Draiks as we can, but there are too many to fit inside. They are being forced to stay outside on the rooftops, but more keep arriving every hour."

Cona stared at Michael and Andrew.

Michael continued, "While the humans are obviously... unsettled, they don't seem to be hostile. They sent a message, that Spencer was able to relay to us, that they have a delegation they want to meet with us."

"Us?" Cona asked.

"Me and you," Michael explained. "You because you appeared to be leading the Draiks, and me because I declared the battle to be over. I think you told the Draiks about us being Archangels, but I don't think that means anything to the humans."
