*What happened to names like John and Michael* Kev thought to himself. "That's an interesting thing to call yourself, Rain. Is that a family name or what?" He shouted, sarcastically.

"My name is like this because you never see the rain coming until it's there, and by the time you notice me, you're already wet."

...

After an awkward 5 seconds of staring, Kev broke the silence with laughing straight from the gut, trying his best to hold it in with no success. "What's so funny?? Are you hurt!?" Rain asked empathetically.
Once Kev had come to, he got up, wiping a tear from his eye. "What do you mean? Don't you know what laughing is?" He questioned. "Well, I-... yeah I know what laughing is, it's just that... I've never made someone laugh before." Rain replied, moderately embarrassed.

"Well, it probably wasn't intentional," Kev responded, still chuckling as he started to climb up the tree in which Rain stood on a branch of. "Your tagline is pretty clever, maybe just don't use it on a first date."

"Very well. What did you say your name was again?"

"I'm Kev, and I'm going to free the whole world." Kev responded, still scaling up the jungle bark. Rain looked at him with a confused expression. "Well isn't that ambitious... I guess I'm working on something similar myself, just a lot more downscaled."

"Oh yeah? Tell me about it!" Kev said with intrigue, as he hoisted himself onto the branch and sat down. Rain sighed. "Well, you came to Rivers Crossing at a pretty interesting time. As you probably know, this is an official outpost of the world government, and given responsibility to the Inferno Corps. But ever since they showed up 7 years ago, the entire economy of this country has gone downhill. Outrageous laws, curfews, random taxes on our food and way of life, anything you can imagine so those stuck up mercenaries can have their own vacation paradise outpost. We haven't given in though. My father leads the rebel group against them, and one day we'll overthrow the entire outpost and return to the way it should be."

Kev chuckled. "I like your style, dude. Maybe I should introduce myself a bit more. I'm a-"

"You're a pirate, I know." Rain interrupted. "I can tell. You aren't dressed like a traveling merchant, and you haven't shot at me yet so you can't be a marine. So that kind of rules in favor of the only other group of people that show up here on a sailboat with 3 crewmates and a monkey."

Kev gasped. "You saw us!? I guess we weren't as sneaky as I thought... yeah, we're pirates. I'm the captain of my crew, and we all have our own goals, it's pretty cool."

"Fun. Might I assume that you aim to become the Pirate King, then?" Rain questioned.

"The... what?"

"You know, the pirate king?"

"No, I haven't heard of it. Please, go on."

"The pirate king is the title given to the man or woman that is so powerful that even the world government can't put a stop to their actions, and they hold so much territory that all four corners of the sea knows who they are."

Kev stared at him for a few seconds, his eyes wide like plates and his eyebrows raised nearly to his hairline. He slowly stood up on the shaky tree branch, until he was on his feet. Stretching his arms out, he took a deep breath of the moist jungle air.

"Rain, the shadow avenger of Rivers Crossing, on everything that this world has to offer, I am going to break the chains that bind countries like your own, and liberate us from the monsters who hold us captive. And then, only then, I'LL CLAIM THE TITLE OF PIRATE KING, THE MOST FREE MAN IN THE WORLD!!!"
