"say aaaaahhh~"

"is this necessary?" hanni furrowed her brows, sitting on the couch, staring at the wooden stick in front of her face.

"yes. now open wiiiide." the nurse made the gesture with her own mouth. closing it with a groan after hanni still didn't budge. "come on! pretend i'm minji or something!" dramatically shrugging her shoulders. "don't you always open your mouth for her?"

"danielle!" the said bear stood on the side in shock.

"what? look at her now." danielle stated. hanni's mouth now wide open in disbelief. "it worked."

taking the chance, danielle put the stick on top of her tongue and peeked inside.

"hmmm...no swolleness or nothing." she removed the stick and wrote notes down on her clipboard. "enough food? water?"

"more than enough."

"good." more scribbles. "up to date on your shots? flu? td? mmr?"

"yes, mamn."

"very good." danielle wrote a few more things. "now the physical examination."

"again, is this all necessary?" hanni questioned, eyeing danielle put on her stethoscope.

"just wanna make sure you're okay, pham..." minji sighed out. tiredness evident in her voice.

danielle continued the checkup. "exactly. considering the amount of blood you've lost in the past few days...we have to make sure your bodies recovering well from all the drainage." she put the scope over her beating heart. "and to make sure your little human-self isn't prone to fainting again."

hanni gave a hard scoff.

danielle hummed in approval. "that's good, cough a little more for me now." moving the stethoscope over her back.

hanni irritatedly complied.

"mmmm..." danielle squinted her brows in concentration. "no fluid in the lungs...so...i guess you're good! next is to check for tumors in your..." she motioned down to hanni's chest. "unnie said you routinely have them checked out with your family's history of thyroid and breast cancer?"

"minji." hanni called out to her girlfriend.

the said girl raised a brow, "she's a nurse, pham. i thought it would be convenient for you since she's here. for free, might i add."

hanni gazed back at danielle and saw the latter give her an innocent—some would say cocky—smile. teeth showing and all. with a defeated pout on her lips, hanni proceeded with the report. "thyroid, yes. and i lost my grandmother to breast cancer, so i just want to be sure..."

danielle was about to put on a rubber glove to start, before hanni crossed her arms over her chest.

"b-by my own doctor doing my check-ups..."

danielle huffed in understanding. "i know, hanni. but it's best to check now while i'm still here." she saw the girl still unmoving. adding: "i'll be sure to give the report to your actual doc later on."

the human looked over at minji, who just shrugged her shoulders with her own arms crossed.

hanni then uncrossed her arms in defeat.

"perfect." danielle put on the blue glove and shot minji a wink. "hope you don't mind me feeling up on your girl."

"just shut the fuck up and hurry." the vampire scolded.

"okay!" danielle giggled and faced a red-faced hanni. "can you take off your shirt?"

"minji!" hanni called out again.
