Note: Hey! I'm writing this mainly for myself. It is not proofread or, really, even properly, story boarded at all. I just wanted to write something Haikyuu related for the people who can't stand to be always reading well, you know. Smut. I'm an adult, so it's just practically illegal and uncomfortable for me to even read it, so here is a story that I hope I'll be able to remember to update.

It was a nice day in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Shoyo had just finished up practicing with his team and was heading home for the day.

It was always the walks home after practice he always looked back at his early volleyball days. He didn't exactly regret the choices he made in the past.
I mean, they got him where he is today. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't change any of it.

Hell, if he knew what he was doing in middle school, he probably would've been more prepared for high school.

Well, it's not like he had the power to change the past.

HONK HONK!

The sound of a car horn and tires squealing as the breaks were slammed on filled Shoyos ears before everything went dark.

The next thing Shoyo knew was that he was on a bike. This startled him to the point where he fell off. Looking around, he noticed he was back in the Miyagi prefecture of Japan. In front of the very electronics store that was playing High School Volleyball Nationals.

'This can't be real. . .' Shoyo thought to himself as he was silently freaking out.

"Come on, Shoyo! We need to go before they take over the soccer field!" Koji shouted as he started to bike away.

"Sorry Koji, I don't feel too well. I'm going to go home." Shoyo says as he turns his bike around and starts to head home, leaving Koji by himself.

That was probably the worst thing he could've done to his childhood friend, but he couldn't handle anything right now. All he wanted was some space.

He abandons his bike outside this childhood home and runs inside. Not bothering to great his mom, who questioned why he was back so soon. He ran to his room and shut himself inside.

He couldn't hear anything. Everything was too much. All his progress, his friends are all gone. He is back in the past by about 14 years, in fact. Tears streamed down his face, and the next thing he knew, he was being engulfed in a hug.

"It's okay honey, just breathe for me," Shoyos mom said as she held her son.

He held her back and sobbed harder. If there was one thing he missed more than his future, it was his mother's embrace. It had been so long since he had last seen her. Being a professional volleyball player kept him busy.

After a while, Shoyo calmed down.

"Sho, do you want to talk about it?" Asked his mom.

"N-no," his voice cracked, and he cringed.  "I'm okay now. I just got overwhelmed." He said as he wiped his tear stained face.

"Okay, honey. Just know I'm here if you need anything, okay?" She said sweetly, patting his head as she stood up.

"Actually, mom, there is one thing."

"What is it, Sho?"

"I want to play volleyball. I want to get good enough to play it professionally one day." Shoyo said with confidence.

"Okay, I'll see what I can do hun. I think that's a wonderful idea." She said before leaving the room. Realizing how tired he was, Shoyo pulled out his futon and quickly crashed.

Waking up the next morning proved that what Shoyo was experiencing wasn't a dream at all. It was very much real.

Shoyo quickly put away his futon and decided to meditate to start his day. It had become one of his favorite ways to start his day along with a run right after to help him sort through his racing thoughts.

After mediating, he got dressed and ready to go for a quick run, but on his way out, he noticed his mom was awake.

"Moring mom!" Shoyo said.

"Oh, you're up early, Sho. Are you going somewhere?" She said as she noticed he was wearing his PE clothes.

"Oh, I wanted to go for a run. . . Is that okay?" He said to his mom.

"Can I talk to you about what I found for volleyball first?" She asked.

Shoyo agreed and joined her at the kitchen table.

"Yesterday, I decided to see if I could find any middle school teams. Sadly, we don't have any in the area. " Shoyo looked dejected at this statement.  "But I did find a training camp that Kitagawa First is hosting. Apparently, if you go and show my promise, you'll be invited to come play on the middle school team!" This made Shoyos eyes widen to the size of dinner plates.

He could play with Kageyama and the Great King!

This would mean changing the course of the future. But it means he can play volleyball a whole lot sooner.

"I'll do it! If I get chosen, I'll just have to explain to Koji and Izumi that this is what I want to do." He said with determination.

"Okay, I'll get you signed up. It's the last week of February. I'll see what they want you to bring, and I'll get it for you, Hon." Shoyos mom said.

'That's not a lot of time,' He thought to himself.

"Thank you so much, mom! You're the best." Shoyo said, getting up from his spot at the table and hugging her before running out the door to start his run.

If his run looked more like a giddy skip that day, no one said anything.
