[Two people, who are paralyzed in the legs, have met on a dating app and have found comfort in each other. It was as if it was meant to be. Nothing can go wrong:) - Fiction]
"Cirra, honey, are you coming?" Riley says as she walked into Cirra's room, finding her putting on makeup. She was really focused as she put on her mascara, "oh honey, you don't need makeup." Riley giggled, taking a step towards her.
(Riley is Cirra's mom :D)
"Mom, this is my first date ever since high school and I want to have a good first impression." Cirra said, looking over at her. Her makeup was spot on even though it's been a couple years but it appears that she never lost her touch.
"Well, you're beautiful and always have been," her mom said with a small smile, going behind Cirra and grabbed the handles of her wheelchair. "You must be excited, you're all dolled up for this man."
"Yes, I am very excited. I think we'll click nicely," Cirra said with a big smile, clasping her hands together as her mom pushed her into the living room. "He is just like me, mom, and I don't want to let go of this chance with him."
In truth, this began a week ago on a dating app called "Meant to be" where Cirra wanted to find love. She was a ballet dancer back when she was in high school. Dancing was her passion, her life, but it was taken away from her when she got into a car accident. It was brutal. She came out of the hospital paralyzed from the waist down. Experienced depression, locking herself away in her room and grew distant from her friends who wished to see her. But after she downloaded the dating app, it didn't take long for her to be matched with a guy who coincidentally is paralyzed from the waist down.
Now, she was all dolled up for a guy she is meeting in person for the first time. Her mom pulled her outside once he had arrived but he didn't come out of the car, instead his caretaker came out. His caretaker was a young woman who walked up to Cirra and her mom.
"Hi, I'm Romans caretaker, Emily." She said with a big, friendly smile as her hand went out for them to shake. "I will gladly take Cirra to the car." Emily was very insistent, her eyebrows raising as she tried to take ahold of the handles of Cirras wheelchair.
"No, I wish for them to stay here. I have a beautiful garden in the backyard and I even prepared some snacks for them." Riley (Cirra's mom) said, her grip on the handles tightened as she didn't return Emily's smile.
"Oh," Emily said, taking a small step back and her eyes fluttered. "I will see if Roman wants to stay then." She turned around and went back to the car, standing at the door where Roman was rolling down the car window. They spoke to each other but their voices were not heard.
Cirra got a good glimpse of Roman, squinting her eyes a little as she fiddled with her fingers. She was nervous, feeling her heart skip a beat in her chest. Of course, they shared pictures of their faces to each other but now that she got a glimpse of him she couldn't help but think how attractive he really is.
Emily started to help Roman out the car, grabbing his wheelchair out of the trunk and helped him in it. She then pushed him towards Cirra where they made eye contact. Roman was wearing a suit, his hair slicked back and he was wearing prescription glasses.
"Hi," Roman said to Cirra, he appeared to be nervous too since he broke eye contact with her. "I'm Roman." He reached his hand out to her, having a small smile on his face.
Cirra returned the smile with a bigger one and shook his hand, "I know," she said softly, "I'm Cirra." She retrieved her hand from his.
"I know," Roman spoke just as softly, keeping eye contact with her now. They both had weird smiles on their faces which was making it awkward for Riley and Emily.
Riley suddenly cleared her throat, introducing herself, "I'm Cirra's mom, nice to meet you Roman." She shook hands with him, Roman was about to introduce Emily to them but Riley interrupted, "she is Emily, your caretaker, we know." Her tone was firm, being protective which was instinctual.

Roman and Cirra were taken to the garden in the backyard, being left at a small round table that held different kinds of snacks on top of a tray.
They both were silent, nervous and hesitant to say a word to one another. On the other hand when they were talking on the phone, they would blabber on and on without a second thought for hours on end.
"So..." Cirra began to speak but then wasn't sure what to even say exactly, fiddling with her fingers as she avoided eye contact with him.
"How long have you been paralyzed for?" Roman asks her suddenly, maybe helping her out with starting a conversation. He reached for a bite-sized cookie that laid on the tray.
She had to think about how long but really the answer popped up in her head immediately, "well," she began once more, her eyes meeting his, "it's been a couple of years, perhaps five years." Cirra shrugged her shoulders, trying to play it cool.
"Really? I guess I beat you," he chuckled, sounding playful. "I have been paralyzed since I was eight years old. Could say that I woke up one day and just couldn't move my legs, I was crying for infinity." Roman lets out a small sigh, "my parents are religious and came to the conclusion that I was being punished by the man upstairs for doing who knows what."
She looked down at the ground, no longer fiddling with her fingers. "You were just a little boy," Cirra mumbled, unsure what else to say except, "I'm sorry that happened to you."
Roman looked at her closely, placing his hand onto her shoulder. "Don't be sorry, I've gotten used to being paralyzed by the time I was ten. I actually enjoyed it but only because I was given more attention by my parents." A small chuckle ruptured from his throat, removing his hand from her shoulder.
Cirra smiled, nodding her head, "I suppose getting attention was a benefit." She looked at him, her eyes exploring his facial features.
(Let's speed things up a little bit 😃)
They spent a few hours together in the garden, talking about certain things that were a bit more personal. It felt like they knew each other for so long but realistically it's only been a week since they started talking.
As they were talking, Roman noticed Emily walking towards them. Cirra got curious, looking at the direction that he was. "Roman, it's time to get going," Emily said, grabbing the handles of his wheelchair.
"I suppose this is where our little date ends, Cirra. I will text you," Roman smiled at her, leaning forward and gave her a small kiss on the cheek.
Cirra froze, feeling her cheeks warm up. She was surprised by the kiss on her cheek, being speechless. "Uh..yeah, bye, Roman.." She spoke shyly, pursing her lips.
He chuckled, amused by her reaction. Emily smiled awkwardly, pulling him away and out of the backyard. Meanwhile, she sat there while him kissing her on the cheek replayed in her head.
