[Please read part 1 before this one. Thank you!]

[It has been almost a few years since Roman and Cerra hung out which was all thanks to a dating app. They agreed to try dating officially, moving into Rylies home (Cerra's mom) so things could be easier.]

It was the middle of the night, Cerra shifted her head and nuzzled the side of her face against the pillow. Her hand swung lightly on the other side of the bed like a feather, hoping to feel Roman asleep beside her but he wasn't there. His side was warm and the sheet wrinkled but it was like he never existed but his wheelchair was indeed there.

She sat up, rubbing her eyes awake and looked over with the combo of squinted eyes and furrowed eyebrows. Where is he? She wondered, looking at the clock and realizing how late it was. "Roman?" Cerra called out, her voice of concern and uncertainty. Suddenly, the floorboards out in the darkened hallway screamed and a shadow appeared into the bedroom.

"Cerra, you're awake." Roman said, walking towards her side of the bed. "Did I wake you, my dear?" He asks, his hand going onto her cheek with his thumb caressing her skin.

Cerra could feel some wet with warmth to it on her cheek underneath where his hand was. She then noticed the blood on his face and the bloodied hammer in his other hand. "Roman, what did you do?" She asks in a soft whisper, her voice shaky. Her heart picked up pace, beating faster as sweat began to form on her forehead.

A devilish smirk grew on his lips, his eyes darkened with evil. This was not him. "Baby, I did it for us. I got rid of the one who was in our way," he sat down next to her on the bed, his red hand going onto her shoulder. "Your mother wasn't able to understand just how perfect we are together." Roman lets out a small sigh.

She didn't understand his words or the way he was looking at her, "this- this isn't you," Cerra shook her head, shrugging his hand away from her shoulder. "You're not the man I fell in love with."

His smirk turned into a deep frown, his whole face hardened and he clenched his jaw. "And I thought you would understand that I love you and would do anything for you." Roman got up from the bed, "you're not Cerra," he whispered and then everything went black with a swing of the hammer to her head.

Cerra bolts upward, gasping for air and then panted heavily while drenched in sweat. She then realized that she was in bed, freezing up before having the courage to look beside her. Relief took over her once she saw Roman sleeping. Cerra laid back down, turning her head to look at him with a loving gaze before putting her hand in his and falling back asleep.

It was nothing but a nightmare.

_____

Roman and Cerra were in the kitchen, sitting at the small round table while Cerra's mom was making breakfast.

"Did you sleep okay?" He asks Cerra as he read the newspaper, "I heard you in the middle of the night." Roman glanced over at her before looking back at the paper.

"Yeah, I slept fine. I didn't know you were awake," she let out a small giggle, rubbing the back of her neck. "I only had a nightmare but it's nothing to worry about." Roman nodded his head in response.

There was then a knock on the front door so Rylie (Cerra's mom) walked out of the kitchen and went to answer the door.

"Emily will be taking me to work,"  Roman said with a small sigh, folding the newspaper and placed it neatly on the table.

She was a little surprised or perhaps impressed that he will be working, news that she hasn't heard of before. "Really? I didn't think you would work. What kind of job is it?"

"Nothing special, really, just working at the closest grocery store as a register. Would work at an office but it's farther away and the elevators are usually broken down." He shrugged, giving her a small smile. Emily walked into the kitchen and was about to grab the handles of Romans wheelchair. "See you later, love," Roman leaned in and gave Cerra a gentle kiss on the cheek before being pulled out of the house.

"Have..fun?" Cerra said awkwardly, unsure what to really say as she watched him go. Rylie came back into the kitchen and began to serve breakfast.

"Hungry? I made plenty of scrambled eggs and pancakes." Rylie said with a smile on her face as she put a plate of food in front of Cerra.

She was reminded of the nightmare she had, pursing her lips tightly before speaking. "Hey, mom, what do you think about Roman?" Cerra asks, fiddling with her fingers.

"Roman? I think he's a good guy and he is hot," her mom answered in a playful tone, giggling as she sat down beside Cerra. "Really though, he is a good guy and he really cares about you but how you too met isn't close to being romantic." Rylie shook her head in disapproval, letting out a sigh, "am glad that you found love again. Oh, I miss the old you when you were so energetic and outgoing but now look at you: you're like an ant, needing protection, and those nails of yours are so short like they've gone out of style." Her words were nostalgic at first but then was like a rant once Cerra's nails were brought up.

"My nails are fine, mom," Cerra said softly, lifting up her fork and took a bite of her pancakes. "I also won't be how I was before..things changed,"

"I know, honey," Rylie placed her hand onto her shoulder, giving it a small squeeze. "I never wanted you to dance or be with those friends of yours." Rylie lets out a long sigh, her eyebrows furrowed. "Your face glowing when I said yes to your wishes made my heart grow wings. I felt so..happy for you."

"I know"
