~Kyle~
So that's what he meant by evil.
"Ha!" Trinity's brother jumped back in. "I knew you were planning something. Did daddy scare you?" he teased. "you act like he's SO bad."
I stepped forward before Trinity could speak. "Why don't you just mind your own business and get out of here." I growled. he didn't move a muscle.
"I might be younger than you, but I could snap you like a twig. do you even eat?" he spoke in a such a condescending tone that it nearly distracted me from the sound of the front door opening once more. "and there he is!" he ran downstairs and greeted his awful father- who apparently loved him unlike his daughter.
Turning back, I saw Trinity, her face white as a sheet. "Kyle, get back in the closet." she said quietly. "Now."
Shaking my head I let her know that this time I was not giving in. instead I strode back towards her and wrapped my arms around her body protectively. He wasn't going to hurt her, as long as I could help it.
"TRINITY!! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ABOUT YOU GOING OUT OF THE HOUSE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION?!?" her father bellowed from downstairs. I could feel her muscles tense and I hugged her a bit tighter, planting a light kiss on the top of her head. I could hear his thunderous footsteps up the stairs as they grew gradually louder and closer.
"I've got you..." I whispered as the door crashed open once more.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?" he screamed at me. And that was nothing compared to what the beautiful girl below me had been through.
"I- I'm Kyle, sir." I stuttered.
"AND YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST TAKE MY DAUGHTER?!" he shouted. "I THINK NOT!" he looked ready to slap her, and I was equally ready to tackle him if he tried.
"No, sir. We were just going to stay at my place for the night." I explained as calmly as I could. "W- We would come back. we can hang out here, though." I offered. he wouldn't hurt her in front of me, would he?
He took a deep breath, and to Trin's astonishment he lowered his voice. "May I speak to you, err, Kyle?" Before receiving a reply he trotted back downstairs.
"I'll be back in a minute. I'm gonna try and calm down your dad." I said quietly. "Don't you worry." with my hands cupping her face, I kissed her forehead gently before turning towards the door.
"Yes sir?" I said when we sat on the porch.
"What, the hell do you think you're doing." He said in a low voice.
"I should ask the same of you!" I allowed my anger to enter my tone, hoping that it wouldn't set him off. but I never had the best of luck.
He planted a sharp smack across my face. "Don't talk back to me boy!" his tone went up and I regretted my words as soon as I spoke them.
"Well then don't hurt my girlfriend!" his face turned beet red and I knew I was in trouble now. He became so agitated that I was even afraid to run. In a sudden movement he grabbed the front of my shirt and lifted me up.
"I'll stop hurting her-" he rammed me against the wall. "and I'll whip some respect into you!" he threw me to the ground and I clambered back into the chair. "deal?"
I knew my answer wouldn't matter so I didn't bother providing him with one. He looked at me with utter disgust before standing and walking towards the door. "I suggest you don't talk about this." then he stepped inside.
At least Trinity would be okay...
