Cut My Hair

(Nebula cuts their hair, Taurus and Leo realize this.)

Nebula stared at the scissors they got from Earth, she had always supported them and their decisions. Including the one to transition, cutting their hair was the first step.

They picked them up and took a few strands in their fingers, usually Gemini cut their hair but they were training Lunar.

Nebula didn't want to wait any longer.

They then felt the scissors cut their hair and they kept going, feeling lighter with each strand that fell to the "ground" and dissolved into stardust.

After a few minutes, Nebula summoned a mirror and looked into it. The cut wasn't the best, but it wasn't horrible either. Nebula took deep breaths and the mirror and scissors were gone, they wiped their clothes away of hair and then took off their cloak.

They looked at it for a good long moment, Nebula could hide their hair like they always did, wait till their hair grew out again.

They shook their head and made the cloak disappear. They were doing this.

Then they teleported away.

They decided they had to get Taurus and Leo over with, they would probably yell at Nebula but they were hopeful that they would merely shrug it off.

Nebula spawned in the area they always were at. They looked around until they heard a voice.

"There you are-." The voice was cut off, Nebula turned to see Taurus, who looked surprised. Leo seemed equally as shocked.

Nebula cleared her throat, "Uh... I have something to say..."

"Okay." Taurus said blankly,

"I'm... Not a woman... I'm non-binary... that's why I cut my hair and... and..."

Dang it, their confidence was faltering.

"We need to fix your hair. It's bothering me." Leo huffed, "Spawn scissors."

Nebula did as they were told, anxiously averting their eyes.

Leo took the scissors and spun them around, "Even the back is uneven. Nebula, you're going to be the death of us."

After a few minutes, Leo spun them back around.

"Much better." Leo said, Taurus being weirdly quiet.

Nebula nodded,

"Now, repeat what you were saying, I wasn't listening." Leo said.

Nebula opened their mouth before Taurus interrupted.

"They're non-binary, Leo." He said.

Nebula felt happy about Taurus calling them 'they'. It gave them a light floaty feeling.

"Oh. Okaaayyy? Why did you need to tell us?" Leo asked,

"I um... thought you were going to... yell at me?" Nebula said,

Their faces darkened,

"Damn, are we that bad?" Taurus asked,

"Yes." Nebula said bluntly.

"Why would we yell at you because you're non-binary? That's a stupid reason to be angry." Leo said, eyes narrowing, "We should yell at you for saying something as stupid as that."

Nebula chuckled, "This is actually way better..."

"No shit, Nebula." Leo said, rolling his eyes, "This doesn't change anything though, okay?"

"Okay." Nebula said.

"Okay, now that they're here..." Leo said.

Nebula felt so happy about the outcome of this.
