The dark embraced the surroundings as the sun set and shadow of the night was cast upon the rough terrain of the remote rural dirt road that Shirou Kotomine found himself traveling in. The wait was long, but time has come, it was the night of the hunt for Dead Apostle Rathanak.

The heretic vampire has terrorized this region for long enough. Tonight, his existence shall be wiped from the face of the earth, and his victims' souls would finally rest easy. Shirou found himself in a rush since this morning. Putting Gil's shenanigan's aside, his mind has been focusing on exterminating the dead apostle as soon as possible.

This made Queen Gilgamesh complain about his behavior around her. As sometimes he tends to zone out while planning the next action. This was the result of this being the first time that he was bringing a companion in a hunt, making things more awkward than it should be. The Heavenly Father help him if he ever brings Caren out of all people. He'd rather bring Jinako along, at the very least she'll just lock herself up inside a room somewhere and still be helpful.

Speaking of Jinako. If the intel she gave was correct, then Rathanak's workshop should not be that far away. With a hum, Shirou kneeled in one knee and opened the briefcase that he has been carrying all this time. He rummaged through his equipment and managed to stumble upon the ones that he was looking for, a set of bandages.

Gilgamesh, who has been eerily silent this whole time, suddenly spoke. "I presume the merriments has started." Her voice, as captivating as it was chilling, broke the silence. Shirou sometimes wonders if she does that on purpose. Either way, it's nice to hear once more.

"Just a sec. It's been a while since I last used these." He replied to his companion, gesturing to the bandages that he was wrapping in his hands. These are not mere bandages. These are Ash Locks, standard executor equipment against the undead. These pair are in its disguised forms, as soon as he removes the tag they will revert to their true forms as his signature weapons. But that could wait for later, save the best for last as they say.

"Then you better hasten up." She uttered, looking up and taking her gaze away from the executor and turning it forward onto the horizon. From their vantage point on a small cliff, she observed ten or more emaciated undead dogs approaching. "I'm afraid our host is not eager to grant you the courtesy of preparation." Despite those words, she was confident that Shirou could handle them on his own. Maybe she could finally witness those "signature weapons" that he was so secretive about.

Shirou stood up from the ground, black key hilts in hand. Channeling energy into them, the blades extended and revealed themselves. There were six swords in total, three for each hand. He positioned himself for a jump and looked at Gilgamesh one last time.

Gilgamesh grinned with a menacing smile. "Give me a good show, dear"

Taking that as permission from his self-proclaimed wife. Shirou kissed his crucifix and leapt into the horde of dogs from above like a hawk diving onto its prey, pinning down one of Rathanak's familiars in an instant. "One down-." He muttered, eyes turning forward and noticing the increasing amount of dogs coming his way. "A lot more to go."

The night air was filled with the stench of decay and the growls of the undead hounds. Shirou moved swiftly, his blades dancing through the air. Each strike was precise, each movement calculated. He spun, ducked, and weaved through the incoming horde, his swords cutting through the undead flesh with ease.

Gilgamesh watched from the cliff, her eyes gleaming with interest. She had seen Shirou in combat before, but there was something different about him tonight. He seemed more determined, more focused.

Shirou slashed through another undead dog, its body collapsing into a heap of bones and rotting flesh. He could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins, his heart pounding in his chest. Another dog lunged at the young executor, its assault cut short with a casual throw of a black key from Shirou. The creature fell, its body disintegrating before it even hit the ground.
