~Val ~ Nik ~

*Nikki's POV*

"Darlin could you hand me that cup of apple juice, just right over there?" My grandma Marilyn had asked. You could hear her shaky voice was weak and fragile and it just broke my heart.

I grabbed the juice off of the coffee table and gently handed it to her, making sure not to let go just in case her tiny little fingers gave out.

"Here maybe you should rest. You had gotten up at the weh hours of the morning and hadn't took a nap. I imagine you to be mentally drowsy." I chuckled slightly while slowly taking the juice from her. Once it was out of her possession I put the cup back on it's original spot.

"Don't you worry about me know. I can handle things just fine. How about you go on out for the rest of the evening. Gather round some friends. Enjoy the teenage life. It doesn't last forever ya know." She wisely spoke rubbing my cheek with her cold hand.

I cupped her free hand in mine and almost burst into tears. Her fingers cold as ice and you could practically see and feel ever bone she had in her body. For a 94 year old she was really healthy. No Cancer's, No diseases. No sickness. It was the age that got to us all.

"I'm just fine right her Gran." I smiled weakly and tapped her hand softly. She was the only one in my actual family that I knew. I don't know where my mum and dad are. And as far as I'm concerned I don't have any aunts or uncle's. Nor any brothers and sisters. All I have is Gran, Damon and my adoptive mum and dad. But they weren't immediate blood line family. I'm grateful for them but it still hurts.

"How about you call over one of your friend over. I'm sure they'd be delighted to spend time with you. Don't shut them out for me." She gave me a stern look saying she wasn't taking 'No' for an answer. I took out my phone and dialed the number I had practically learned by heart.

"Hey." She answered cheerfully.

"HIYA. I was wondering if maybe you could come over my place for just a bit. My Gran's pressuring me to hang out with someone." I laughed playfully.

"Haha. No problem. I'm just putting mine in bed. Where do you live?" She asked quietly. I'm guess she didn't want to wake her Grandmother.

"I live in 21 High Street Wednesfield." I answered slow enough for her to write it down. (Okayy guys that is a real place in Wolverhampton...I know my stuff ;)...)

"I don't think I know where that is." Val said and thinking kinda way.

"Do you know where Ashmore Park is?" I asked

"Yea. I use to go there all the time." She spoke.

"Its right down the rode from there, just keep going straight then make a right when you reach the old stop sign. Its not at all hard to miss." I paced the room while giving her the information which gave me some weird looks from Gran.

"Okay. I live in 65 Merrick Rode so I should be there in about 20 to 25 minutes tops." She spoke. I made a mental note remember it and write it down when I get of the phone.

"Okay. I'll see ya soon. Bye." I smiled.

"Buh-bye" and with that We hung up.

"Now that wasn't so hard, now was it?" Gran smiled put her hands in her lap.

"Not at all Gran...You know what is hard?" I asked sitting next to her.

"What?"

"Getting you to go bed." I joked. She cracked a smile and tapped my leg gently.
