Midnight. Jack had taken over the chart reading as (Y/n) looked over the horizon. He spotted Phillip gazing through his Bible, and walked towards him.
"Worship the gods.....a fool's errand." He said as Phillip looked up. His eyes slightly opened bigger, as he was perplexed by (Y/n)'s size.
"What in the Lord's Earth are you? You....you are not of his creation...." He said, confused and advancing towards (Y/n).
"No. The truth, though you may find it hard to believe.....I am a god, sir. From another land, far from here. I abandoned that life long ago, to live a longer, less bloody life." (Y/n) said as he gazed out at the horizon.
"Wait....there are other gods?" Phillip said in confusion.
"Aye. Not everyone's a Christian like you, old boy."
(Y/n) said, before a bell rang."Whitecap Bay!" A voice called out.
"We'll talk later." (Y/n) said as he walked away.

"All hands on deck! Set to the longboats!" Blackbeard said as the crew rowed towards the sea. (Y/n) had to suffer the indignity of being stuck out there with them. Jack stood on the shore and gave an encouraging nod to (Y/n) to ease his aggravation. After a few minutes, the boats were far from the shore. A sudden beam of light flashed over the crew. It was a nearby lighthouse.
"We're doomed. They be drawn to man-made light." Said one of the crew members.
"Sharks?" Said the younger crew-mate.
"Worse than sharks, boy. There'll be mermaids upon us within the hour, you mark my words. And we're the bait." The crew member said. (Y/n)'s gaze suddenly drifted into the sea, as he rested his hand against the pommel of one of his Blades.
"I heard tales say a kiss from a mermaid protects a sailor from drowning." Said a sailor.
"Don't be a fool. Mermaids are all female, son, and lovely as a dream of heaven. But when it comes time to churn butter, so to speak, they snatch a sailor out of a boat, or off the deck of a ship, have their way, and then the sailors are pulled to bottom, and drowned and eaten." The old crewmate said. (Y/n)'s scowl turned into one of disgust. Like the sirens of my homeland, he thought.
"Or sometimes, the other way around." Scrum said, (Y/n) cringing in repulsion.
"Sing." The Gunner said, holding a pistol at the crew.
"Hm?" (Y/n) said, not taking his eyes off the sea.
"They like to hear singing." The Gunner said, leaning foreword. Scrum seemed hesitant to say something, but eventually spoke out.
"Wh-What do we do with a drunken sailor, What do we do with a drunken sailor, What do we do with a drunken sailor, early in the morning?" He sang hesitantly yet silently. The Gunner cocked the pistol.
"Louder." He said. More of the crew joined in, except for (Y/n), who stayed surveying the sea. Minutes became slight hours, and the crew was still singing the shanty, but (Y/n) still eyed the ocean. A sudden yet distant rippling movement from the water circled the boat. (Y/n) lightly smacked the shoulder of Phillip, who snapped awake, and stared at the ripples. The other crewmates stared at the rippling, until it disappeared.
The crew turned around to the end of the boat and a magnificent sight beseeched their eyes... a woman, beautiful as Aphrodite herself, was over the edge of the sea, her bottom half submerged entirely. A Mermaid.
"Lord save me." Scrum said, captivated by the sea creature's immaculate beauty. Another crewmate drew a dagger, and raised his arm, only for Scrum to catch his arm mid-swing. "You'll scare her off!" He said.
