Ezio

She'd be the death of me, I swear to God.

But again, there's always first time for everything. In my life, the existence of Sofia Fiori is an anomaly. A symbol of something beyond my control. Yet for her, I'd do anything, even unreasonable ones.

Now I cannot imagine my life without her in it. I don't even care if I sound like a pussy. I want her to myself. All her pretty mind and annoying sass. Those eyes, glares, tears. Those skins, screams, moans.

At this point, it stretches beyond obsession. Far from want and desire. Not merely physical. I lust for her soul. Her mind. Her attitude. I need to breathe her. To fill my senses with every inch of her. To taste her until I'm intoxicated.

Fuck. I crave for her. I love her. I worship her.

Months ago, I'd be laughing my ass off at the word. But now, I'm not ashamed to admit the foreign feeling. There's no need to deny it any longer.

The only thing I want is her. By my side. Underneath me. Above me. All over me.

But of course, my girl doesn't want me. Not on the same level as I do, at least. Because the first thing she demanded was for us to be over. Imagine the audacity. After all the shit I went through to get her back.

I have my suspicions and Xavier Serrano Cortez is one of them.

I don't know what went down between them. What kind of compromise they had. But they are friendly with each other. Just the thought of it makes me burn in anger. No way I'd let that piece of shit come between us. Though there's no doubt he has some soft spot for her. Or else, he wouldn't let me go unscathed. As much as I hate to admit, she has him wrapped around her fingers.

Well, that sounds fucking familiar.

The only thing I regret from the lil trip to Valencia is that my bullet hurt her. One thing I wish I could take back. I meant to shoot the fucker. And I did. My bullet was planted deep in his abdomen, but that shit grazed her side.

I swear I've never had a fear like that before. The startling thought that I might be losing her to death. It was fucking terrifying. As sinner as I am, I was even praying for her, necessarily begging for her to be okay. As fucked up as it sounds, I couldn't imagine the world without her.

"Russo has been dealt with." Marco announces suddenly, trying to get my attention, but my sole focus is on the big window I keep staring for the past hour, hoping for a pretty figure to pop up out of nowhere. Marco's office on the third floor is facing the view of giant swimming pool after all.

God, I'd do anything for a glimpse of her, even standing here like a fucking creep. It has been agonizing four days since the last time I saw her. When we parted ways to give her time. The distance is killing me. She sure as hell wants me to suffer.

"Good." I murmur flatly. Russo is the last thing on my mind. Why the hell would I fill my brain with something insignificant like Russo?

Marco scowls, knowing how distracted I am. Yet I don't spare him a glance.

"Pull yourself together, Ezio." He mutters, probably rolling his eyes in irritation.

I ignore his remark, surprising him with words I utter carefully but firmly after clearing my throat to shake off the awkwardness. "I want to have your blessing."

God, it's still awkward saying it out loud.

Reluctantly, I divert my eyes to him to gauge his reaction. My face stern and serious despite the abrupt revelation.
