Liz was in the school changing rooms for female sports members, more specifically the cheer team. Sally couldn't stop noticing that her best friend was acting...strange. Lately, the Latina has been seeming a bit out of it. She kept forgetting about meeting up with the gang after school. She kept looking at the geek who tutored her. And when she did hang out with them, she constantly looked at her phone. So she walked to her. "Lizzie, what's going on?" The blonde asked.
"Hmm? What do you mean?"
"Well, you smile like you've been in a good mood since Flash broke up with you. And you keep texting during our sleepovers".
"I'm just moving on and for the texting...I was scrolling through Instagram, that's all".
Sally just glared and then shrugged it off, walking to her mirror and applying makeup. Liz wasn't aware that she was holding her breath until she gave a deep exhale. Then she checked her makeup one last time before leading her team out onto the sidelines. Tonight was the night the Midtown High football team (The Mustangs) was playing the biggest game of the entire season.
Then at halftime, Liz went to Peter who was taking pictures for the school newspaper. "Petey, is that a new camera?" She asked with a flirtatious tone.
"Yeah, been saving up for this bad boy", Peter boasted. Liz made a low 'ooh' sound out of interest.
"Mind taking shots of me?" She asked before doing a pretty pout, which always drives boys crazy. Peter started blushing.
"Liz!" Sally called to her friend. "Get away from there, you know geek-a-flu is contagious!" Her friend was pulling her away from the boy, literally.
Liz just giggled. "I don't mind catching what Petey's got". Then she playfully hid her face behind her pom-poms.

"¡Dios mío, Liz!" Alexia yelled in frustration. "That was all you did to flirt?!"
"Well, what were you expecting? That I should kiss him in front of the entire school?!"
"Uh...yes! You need to tell him how you feel!"
"But—"
"But nothing! Tell him! Tonight, now!"
Liz just looked at her cousin and then looked down. Alexia then sighed and sat next to her. "Liz, why do you love him?"
"Because, he always cheers me up, and he makes me happy. He is surprisingly charming and the smartest person I know. He makes my arms ache so much. I love that he cares about me because he knows I care about him. When he is upset, I just want to be there for him. He is a good...man", she confessed.
Alexia smirked playfully. "You know, I've never heard you say those words about Flash. He is a much better match for you", she said as she hugged her. Then as she walked out of her room. "Ask him out okay?"
As she closed the door behind her, Liz just froze. She had confessed her realization of why Peter Parker was so special not just his mind but how he texted her after school and on weekends. How he was such a gentleman trying to protect her. He would even put his jacket around her.
Then there was something knocking on her window. She turned around and she stood up in shock. Peter was knocking on her window by the fire escape stairs. The window was open yet he still showed the decency to knock anyway.
"Petey?!" She exclaimed. The boy smiled softly. Then entered, she noticed that he seemed smug. "What are you doing here?!"
He just pulled a bouquet of (slightly damaged) roses out of his backpack "I came to give you these, and I also couldn't help but hear you talking to your cousin—"

Loving Petey
Teen FictionSince Liz was clearly the better option I decided to write a retelling fanfic of the show through Liz's POV. Oh, and Gwen doesn't exist. I also want to add some OCs as well as have Liz speak Spanish in some chapters.
