The kids began to walk to Everett's home. He took the longer road, making sure she didn't realise why he did it. He loved talking to Rose more then he loved talking to his girlfriend, Taelor. He had been lying when he said she was sweet; she was actually a spoiled mom-less girl, who's father would go to the ends of the earth to make her satisfied. They were a very rich family compared to the poor-filled suburbs of New Jersey. He always believed that was why they lived there- to make themselves feel better.
Taelor was very aggressive and bratty at times, but once in a while her resolve crumbled and the innocent girl who just wanted love shone through. Those were the moments he thrived for. But with Rose, he was happy and at peace almost all the time. She was the sun in her own dark past- and he loved that.
"Everett... Everett!"
"Wait what?"
"Seriously?"
"What?"
"You've been spacing out for the past five minutes."
"Oh... sorry about that."
"Yea."
"..."
"Anyway, do you have any clue where we are?"
"My house is a block away."
"Oh."
"You okay?"
"Fine."
"Why are you turning so pale?"
"Im nervous."
"It'll be fine. I promise."
"Everett, you say that all the time."
"But as long as we're together nothing can hurt us."
"..."
"..."
"We should probably hurry... wouldn't want to keep your grandma waiting more then she already has."
"Yea... good idea."
