The tree branches hung low near where the boy sat. He thought it was rather strange they fell so quickly; their leaves usually made them seem so full and large. Now however, the beautiful orange-yellow hues were dark red and brown and crushed on the ground. Everett lifted his foot and found a crunchy leaf still intact. He attempted to drag it over to him, but before it was halfway to the boy it was already disintegrated.

Before he knew what happened, a small hand handed him a healthy green leaf. He looked and sighed. It was the- rather annoying in his opinion -girl again. He gave a smile that didn't reach his eyes, but her blank stare remained. Beginning to feel creeped out, the boy took the leaf and gestured for her to sit down.

"You could sit if you-"

"You still haven't done what I asked."

"Okay... what are talking about? What did you ask me to do?"

"The stupid sign!"

"Oh my god... You think I'm going to change it?"

"Hmph."

"Why do you want me to change it anyway?"

"I can't tell you until you promise me you'll change it."

"Then promise me you'll tell me one day."

"Are you meaning to tell me you want to keep in touch?"

"..."

"Aw, you're blushing!"

"Just take my stupid pinkie."

"A pinkie promise? That's so adorable!"

"What, you don't do them? In that case, lets do a hand shake."

"No, a pinkie promise is fine."

"Whatever, Rose."
