The next day, the boy found himself back at the the bench. He was currently eating a strawberry flavoured ice pop, moping where he sat. He had called Taelor to tell her of his injustice to which she sobbed at. He wished it hadn't ended the way it did, but it was inevitable with the guilt eating at him, nagging away at his conscious.
A large part of him wished Rose would appear like she always did, her smile wide and bright. Even during her darkest day she did not disappoint; she was amazing in every way. There wasn't a chance it would happen, however, because he had messed up. He had messed it all up horribly. He closed his eyes, placing the sign on the seat next to himself. Sighing resentfully, he closed his eyes and leaned back.
A light tap on the shoulder startled him, his knee jerking up in defence. In front of him was the reason for his troubled thoughts- his sunshine. He jumped up and threw his arms around her without a thought.
"...Rose."
"Everett."
"W-why are you... here? With me of all people?"
"I realised that it was my fault for accepting it. So I came to ask for forgiveness."
"Please, please it wasn't your fault okay? It was okay me. God... What do they teach you in your house?"
"..."
"..."
"You know you could always let go."
"I wont let go again. NEVER again."
"Everett..."
"Yes Princess?"
"I... I think I..."
"You what?"
"...Never mind."
"Now hey, what are you sighing for? Turn that frown upside down and come sit with me."
"Stop making me smile, I look terrible when I do."
"I think it lights up the room."
"We're in a park."
"Oh shush."
"Your attempts at being smooth never fail to make me smile."
"And your attempts at making me fall in love with you never fail to make me fall deeper."
"What was that?"
"Ah, nothing."
"Okay... Well anyway, you still haven't changed the sign. After all this time?"
"Are we back to this? I can already feel myself scowling."
"It's an improvement that you should make."
"And to think, we we're actually getting along well for a period of time."
"Don't we always?"
"Rose... You're one of my best friends but always bringing this up is irritating and irrelevant. You need to drop it."
"Fine."
"Fine. "
"..."
"..."
"I'll see you tomorrow."
"...Until then..."
