6 .Chapter

The entire house was filled with the joy and excitement of a child's arrival. Everyone was congratulating the family, and the hall was beautifully decorated with flowers and gifts, with sweet music playing in the background. Some people were dancing when suddenly, a cute little chubby child with green eyes appeared among them with his toys. As soon as everyone noticed him, they started trying to hold him or pinch his cheeks. However, the child didn't stop with anyone and made his way into a room on his tiny feet, where he saw a woman standing by the mirror. He walked up to her and said,
"Mama..."

The woman, seeing the child beside her, put down her makeup brush and said while applying lipstick,

"Yes, Leo, what happened? Why are you here? Didn't Mama say you should sleep in your room tonight?"

Leo, holding his toy to his chest, replied, "Can I play with the baby, Mama?" with his eyes twinkling.

"No, not now. The baby is sleeping, so later," she said.

"Please, Mama, please," he said, pouting.

But she firmly refused and walked to the balcony, looking outside while starting to eat the snacks kept there. This made Leo sulk, and he filled his eyes with tears, saying again, "Mama."

"Leo, you're becoming very stubborn. I said no, so no. Now go away," Divya said a bit angrily, as it had been two weeks since she gave birth to Kavin and had been at home since then. She was a bit frustrated, and Leo's demand was irritating her more, so she said again, "Don't go near the baby. He's sleeping, and if he wakes up..."

But she didn't finish her sentence and went back to eating. However, Leo's excitement didn't wane. He really wanted to see his brother, so he climbed onto the bed and tried to peek into the crib. In his attempt, a glass fell from the bedside table, and the noise woke the baby, who started crying loudly. Hearing this, Divya rushed into the room in a panic, and seeing Leo, her anger peaked. She yelled at him and pushed him away from Kavin, making him fall onto the bed's edge. Leo, already panicked, couldn't balance himself and hit a sharp corner, cutting his eyebrow and falling unconscious.

He didn't know what happened next, but when he regained consciousness, he was in the hospital, nestled against his dad's chest, and seeing him, he fell asleep again.

Leo was lost in his memories, but the sound of an airplane passing by brought him back to reality. He took a deep breath and looked around because he was not anywhere else but in his company, "Gracemark Company," which meant everything to him. His pride, his courage, his happiness-this company was everything to him because Leo had spent many years bringing it to this level, and now he was here.

A little while ago, Leo had dropped Kavin at the hospital and then came straight to the company. As soon as he arrived, he called the doctor to check if Kavin was okay, and later, he called Kavin's art studio manager, ordering him not to let Kavin work today because he couldn't risk Kavin's health.

Yes, he loves and cares for his brother a lot. He knows very well that Kavin is his half-brother, born to Piyush and Divya, but Leo adores him. Even though he sometimes gets angry at him, he cannot see him in pain. After Kavin came into his life, Leo found companionship, and since then, Kavin has meant a lot to him. When Leo was injured, he didn't say anything, but as Kavin grew older and kept asking how it happened, Leo warned everyone that this matter should never be brought up, and everyone should just forget it. Leo feared that if Kavin knew, he might start hating Divya or blame himself, and since Kavin is everything to Leo, he couldn't let that happen.

Kavin is the one who provides Leo with some solace in his stressful life, as he is very fun-loving and playful. Leo is fine because of him; otherwise, he sometimes gets overwhelmed by work stress. Kavin is Leo's stressbuster, and interestingly, both brothers have always stayed away from relationships with girls. Even at parties, they avoid such interactions.

Currently, Leo is at the office and has summoned his secretary, as she handled the meeting in his absence, and he wants to praise her. It's rare for Leo to compliment someone's work because the last time he did, some people got too arrogant, so he stopped. Therefore, people yearn for his praise, knowing their boss appreciates their work.

After a while, his secretary, Kirti Shukla, knocks on the office door. Leo tells her to come in and sits properly in his seat, opening a file to read. Kirti, wearing high heels and a white-black pencil skirt dress, enters hesitantly and says, "Boss, you called?"

"Good job, Miss Kirti. You handled the meeting very well in my absence, and I just received a message from the contractor that they are considering doing a deal with us. There's a party tonight from my side for the whole team, so go and enjoy," Leo says, folding his hands and getting back to work.

Kirti is shocked, staring at her boss with wide eyes. She wonders if this is really her boss, as he has never talked about a party during office hours before. But feeling Leo's gaze, she quickly recovers, smiles, and says, "No... no... yes, thank you so much, boss. I will inform everyone."

Leo nods and returns to checking some files and looking at the screen. He asks, "So, what's the schedule for the rest of the day?"

"One minute, boss," Kirti says. She quickly grabs a file from the window, which she had prepared earlier, detailing the schedule. Standing in front of Leo, she says, "Boss, you only have two meetings today. One was this morning, which you attended, and the other..."

But she suddenly falls silent, glancing around nervously to see if her boss is watching. She slowly steps back, and Leo, noticing her sudden quietness, looks at her and asks, "Are you okay, Miss Kirti?"

"Yes, sir," she replies hastily.

"So, what about the second meeting? When is it?" he asks, looking directly at her.

Kirti clutches the file tighter and says, "Well, boss, please don't get angry with me because this meeting is a bit personal, and I didn't schedule it."

"What do you mean, Miss Kirti?" Leo says sternly, shocked to learn someone else arranged the file.

Kirti, biting her lips nervously, thinks she is not in the mood to face her boss's anger today, especially after hearing about the party. It's not that Leo is always an angry boss, but this news will surely make him angry. Kirti taps her feet lightly on the floor and quickly says, "Boss, it's not my fault. When I came to the office this morning to schedule everything for today, the second meeting was already written in this file. I thought about asking who did it, but then I feared it would lead to gossip about you. So, I didn't say anything. But now I must tell you that (without looking at him) you have a 'date' with Miss Jia Rathore at Gracemark Hotel at 2 PM today."

After saying this, Kirti quickly slides the file onto the table and almost magically disappears, leaving Leo gripping the table tightly in frustration.
