the next day at school, jisung found himself looking for the mysterious boy in the bustling crowd. although, the passing students distracted him.
"hi, jisungie-oppa!"
"good morning, jisung-hyung!"
"jisung-ah, have you eaten yet?"
jisung only smiled at them and bowed his head in greeting. in his peripheral vision, he saw a tall blondie rushing over.
"oh my god, jisungie. i can't even get to you because of all these people... sungie?" hyunjin trailed off when he noticed that jisung was staring off into the crowd. when he waved his hand in front of his face, jisung suddenly walked off.
"hey, don't disrespect your hyung like that!" he pouted, trying to push through the crowd to catch up.
jisung made his way over to a boy with now purple hair. "hey, you're the boy from yesterday..."
the boy slammed his locker shut, making jisung jump. he shivered under the boy's cold gaze.
"um," jisung shifted nervously, "i really like your new hair, it suits-"
"minho-oppa!" a girl ran up to minho and clinged to his arm, twirling his hair in her finger. "i loooooveeee your hair, it's soooo hot.." she said, swaying her hips and batting her lashes.
minho looked at her, his eyes indifferent. "thanks, younghee."
he might've seen something wrong, but jisung could swear that the girl smirked at him. he shifted awkwardly.
meanwhile, hyunjin finally caught sight of jisung... and minho.
why is he with that piece of shit...
he pushed his way through the crowd, not caring about anyone anymore.
"jisungie... oh, who are you?" hyunjin said with a cold face. but the only reaction he got was a cold stare back.
jisungie? minho thought. something in him wanted to punch that tall blonde, but all that happened was minho's eye and finger twitching. why did he care anyway?
hyunjin noticed and smirked in satisfaction.
when minho didn't reply, hyunjin ignored him and his little slut. "why'd you leave me?" hyunjin said with a pout, putting his arm around jisung.
jisung thought he'd noticed his awkwardness and came to help. he felt guilty for leaving him for someone who didn't even want to talk to him. he didn't deserve hyunjin.
"sorry jinnie-hyung, let's go now..." jisung smiled. hyunjin smiled back and squished jisung's cheek.
"okay, cutie."
jisung playfully slapped him on the arm and looked away, his cheeks red.
"owww! don't hit your hyung!" hyunjin sulked, rubbing his arm.
as they walked off, hyunjin could feel the now purple haired boy glaring holes into his back.
what, jealous? after being an asshole to my sungie?
beside minho, the girl also glared at them walking away, but her glare was directed towards jisung.
what a slut. begging for any boy's attention. what's so special about him that my jin-jin would want to talk to him? the girl scoffed and rolled her eyes. i'll make that fat pig's life hell.

after hyunjin dropped jisung off at class, he left him there alone. jisung could only twirl his fingers and wait for the teacher to start the lesson.
the boy pouted, wishing he had a friend to talk to. someone as trustworthy as hyunjin, jeongin, and felix.
after all, being popular didn't mean he had a lot of friends. he just knew a lot of people.
yes, he could technically make friends with anyone he wanted, but he didn't feel like pleasing anyone at the moment.
as the young boy was distracted by his wandering thoughts, a boy with a strong allure and attracting aura walked into the room.
his face was stone cold, his eyes set and his mouth stiff. even though he showed no emotions, everyone had stopped to stare.
when jisung noticed the sudden silence, he looked up and locked eyes with the boy for a second.
minho.
minho shifted his gaze and walked to his seat. since when did they share a class? was he suddenly popular now because of his looks?
but... he'd looked good even before he had his hair dyed. jisung watched minho walk up the aisle, then realized what he'd thought. he mentally slapped himself.
what am i saying?
it's only a matter of a boy complimenting a boy, right?
i'm straight.
people around him started whispering.
"look, isn't that lee minho?"
"was he always this good-looking?"
"oh my gosh, do you think he'd notice me?"
jisung overheard all these comments and unconsciously sulked in his seat. why did he even care that much?
it's only because i'm jealous. jealous of his growing popularity, jisung told himself, yes, that's it. i just haven't received compliments like that for a while now.
in reality, he had. in fact, he'd received them everyday. he just hadn't cared enough to acknowledge them. but now that these were directed towards someone else, he noticed.
he noticed indeed.
so what? it's not like i'm the only popular person in the whole world. in fact, why was i popular? what was so good about me besides my average looks?
jisung had already started to think about everything he'd ever hated about himself when the teacher started the lesson, drowning out his hateful thoughts with pre-calculus.
behind him, minho stared at the back of the younger's head, his eyes bored.
why does that guy keep bothering me? why did he stare at me when i walked in? what a creep.
he scoffed.
weirdo.
