Jack’s POV:
He fell into my arms, his sleep both peaceful and pained. He was so young, so innocent, yet so powerful. I couldn’t have even imagined that he would be able to do such a feat.
“Jack, bring him to his room, it’s next to yours. He needs rest,” North ordered as he stroked his snow white beard thoughtfully, probably thinking about what just happened.
I followed his orders and carried little Bryan to his room. I laid him on his comfy bed and tucked him in. I pity this little kid. There was this feeling in my guts that I was responsible for this child now, that I had to be the big brother who looked out for him and cared for him, just like with my baby sister when I was a mortal.
A brother, a younger brother, that would be nice. I hope that’s how Bryan sees me. When Bryan talked to Tooth, I felt that motherly aura from Tooth and Bryan longed for it so much; he was like a moth drawn to a light. North appeared to be the father figure, even to me. Bunnymund, Sandy and I could be the big brothers that looked out for him.
Bunnymund, what has gotten into him? When I fight with him, he’s not like that, he’s usually a fun tease, like, it was just games and he didn’t take things too personally. But with Bryan, he seemed angry at the very thought that Bryan was here.
I floated out of the room and heard their voices. I followed their voices and it led to the living room. The living room wasn’t as large as the globe room but it was large enough to hold this beautiful center piece which was a black sleek grand piano.
No one ever played it actually, North just loved seeing that piano in the middle of the room.
“Jack, do sit down, you are a part of this discussion,” North ordered as I came in.
I sat down and listened to their conversation.
“I told you he’s bad news. Look, he’s consorting with spirits from the other side,” Bunnymund reasoned out as he looked terrified of what just happened.
Bunnymund barely got scared, heck, I’ve never seen him scared except for that time when he thought he was never going to be believed in again. But this was a different fear that I saw in his eyes.
“I don’t think it’s his fault. What if that’s just how his powers work?” Tooth asked, considering the fact.
“He is young and his powers may still grow. Truly I am amazed of his capabilities,” North thought out loud as he stroked his beard, deep within his thoughts.
“No wonder the Man in the Moon wanted us to train him,” I thought out loud. Suddenly, the gears all fit together and the clock was finally ticking.
“What do you have in mind, Jack?” Sandy asked with the images appearing above his head.
“Look, he can summon these spirits at will. Don’t you think that may prove to be a very powerful skill when it falls into the wrong hands?” I asked and all of them nodded in agreement and understanding.
“That’s why the Man in the Moon wanted us to train him because in the process of training him, we also start teaching him values, values that separated him from what Pitch is. Technically, Bryan and Pitch is almost the same, dark in nature,” I added.
“No, Pitch could have never done that. Bryan is a lot more powerful than Pitch. Bryan could defeat Pitch with a single flick of his finger, Pitch won’t even comprehend the power that Bryan holds. I fear that he is even more powerful than I,” Sandy said with the images above his head.
“Are you sure, Sandy?” Tooth asked, getting worried.
“If he gets better than he is today, no doubt he is a lot more powerful than I,” Sandy answered, quite disturbed with the idea.
