Namjoon had been working non-stop for weeks, his schedule packed with back-to-back meetings, studio sessions, and promotional events. As much as he loved his job, it left him little time to spend with Jin. Jin understood the demands of Namjoon’s career but couldn’t help feeling a bit neglected. He missed their late-night conversations, spontaneous trips to their favorite ramen shop, and simply lounging around doing nothing together.
One evening, as Namjoon was rushing out the door for yet another engagement, Jin stood in the hallway, arms crossed, a pout on his lips. “Are you ever going to have time for me again?” he asked, trying to keep his voice light but failing to hide the frustration completely.
Namjoon paused, his hand on the doorknob, and turned to look at Jin. The exhaustion in his eyes was evident, but so was the affection. He walked back to Jin and wrapped him in a tight hug. “I know I’ve been really busy, and I’m so sorry. I miss you too, more than you know.”
Jin softened in Namjoon’s embrace, but the lingering annoyance was still there. “I just want a little bit of your time. Is that too much to ask?”
Namjoon pulled back and cupped Jin’s face in his hands. “I’ll make it up to you. I promise.” He kissed Jin gently before reluctantly heading out.
The next few days passed in a similar blur, with Namjoon gone before Jin woke up and returning long after he had gone to bed. Jin tried to stay patient, but it was hard. On Friday evening, he was particularly grumpy, scrolling aimlessly through his phone on the couch, the TV playing in the background. The house felt unusually quiet without Namjoon’s laughter and the soft hum of his voice.
Just as he was about to give up on the day, the doorbell rang. Jin’s heart skipped a beat. He wasn’t expecting anyone, and Namjoon wasn’t supposed to be back for hours. He walked to the door and opened it to find Namjoon standing there, a sheepish smile on his face and a large bouquet of Jin’s favorite flowers in his hands.
“Surprise,” Namjoon said softly, stepping inside.
Jin’s annoyance melted away as he took the flowers, his eyes shining with surprise and delight. “What are you doing here? I thought you had work until late.”
Namjoon shrugged, looking a bit embarrassed. “I talked to my manager and rearranged some things. I couldn’t stand the thought of you being upset with me all weekend.”
Jin set the flowers down and threw his arms around Namjoon, holding him tight. “I missed you so much.”
“I missed you too,” Namjoon murmured into Jin’s hair. “How about we spend the whole weekend together? No work, no distractions. Just us.”
Jin pulled back to look at him, eyes wide with excitement. “Really?”
“Really,” Namjoon confirmed, a smile spreading across his face.
They spent the weekend doing everything they loved. On Saturday morning, they woke up late, wrapped in each other’s arms. Namjoon suggested they cook breakfast together, and soon they were in the kitchen, laughing and teasing each other as they made pancakes. Jin managed to get flour on his face, and Namjoon leaned in to kiss it away, both of them giggling like children.
After breakfast, they decided to have a movie marathon. They piled up a mountain of pillows and blankets on the couch, snuggling up together as they watched their favorite films. They made a game of quoting lines and guessing what would happen next, their laughter filling the room.
In the afternoon, they went for a walk in the park. The weather was perfect, with a gentle breeze and the sun shining brightly. They held hands, talking about everything and nothing, enjoying the simple pleasure of each other’s company. They stopped by the ice cream shop they loved, sharing a sundae and reminiscing about their first date there.
By the time they got home, it was early evening. Namjoon suggested they make dinner together, and Jin eagerly agreed. They prepared a feast, dancing around the kitchen to their favorite songs, stealing kisses whenever they passed each other. The meal turned out delicious, but the highlight was the time spent together, the kitchen filled with warmth and love.
After dinner, they decided to continue their cozy evening. Jin brought out a couple of board games they hadn’t played in ages. They settled on the living room floor, surrounded by game pieces and snacks, and the competition began. Jin’s strategic mind clashed with Namjoon’s creative thinking, leading to hilarious moments of triumph and defeat. Jin couldn’t stop laughing when Namjoon tried to bend the rules to his favor, and Namjoon’s eyes sparkled with mischief.
As the night grew late, they moved back to the couch, where Jin rested his head on Namjoon’s shoulder. Namjoon began to talk about a new song he was working on, sharing the lyrics and melody that had been occupying his mind. Jin listened intently, offering his thoughts and encouragement. It felt good to reconnect on such a personal level, sharing not just their time but their dreams and passions.
That night, as they lay in bed, their fingers intertwined, Namjoon looked at Jin, his heart full. “I promise I’ll make more time for us. You’re the most important person in my life, and I never want you to forget that.”
Jin smiled, his head resting on Namjoon’s chest. “I know. And I’m always here, cheering you on, even when you’re busy. Just...don’t forget about me too often, okay?”
Namjoon chuckled, pressing a kiss to Jin’s forehead. “I won’t. I love you.”
“I love you too,” Jin replied, feeling content and happy as they drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms.
Sunday was another perfect day. They woke up to the smell of fresh coffee that Namjoon had made. They decided to have breakfast on the balcony, enjoying the morning sun. The rest of the day was spent exploring a nearby town, visiting little shops, and taking pictures together. They made memories that would tide them over during the busy times.
As they wandered through the quaint streets, they found a small bookstore. Jin’s eyes lit up at the sight of the vast collection, and Namjoon couldn’t resist following him inside. They spent hours browsing, sharing their favorite books and discovering new ones. Jin picked out a novel he’d been wanting to read, and Namjoon found a poetry collection that intrigued him. It was a simple joy, but it meant the world to them.
By the time they got home, the sun was setting. They decided to cook dinner together again, this time trying a new recipe they had found in one of the books. It turned into an adventure, with both of them laughing at their attempts to follow the instructions. The dish turned out surprisingly well, and they enjoyed their meal on the balcony, watching the sky change colors.
After dinner, they settled on the couch with their new books. Namjoon read a few poems aloud, his deep voice resonating in the quiet room. Jin listened, feeling a sense of peace and happiness wash over him. They spent the rest of the evening in comfortable silence, wrapped in each other’s presence.
By Sunday evening, as they lay tangled up on the couch, tired but happy, they knew that no matter how busy life got, they would always find their way back to each other. And that was enough. Namjoon turned to Jin, his eyes reflecting the love and commitment he felt. “I’m so glad we did this. I needed this time with you.”
Jin smiled, his hand resting on Namjoon’s cheek. “Me too. It’s been perfect.”
Namjoon leaned in, kissing Jin softly. “Let’s make a promise. No matter how hectic things get, we’ll always make time for weekends like this.”
Jin nodded, his eyes shining with affection. “Deal. You’re stuck with me, Namjoon.”
Namjoon laughed, pulling Jin closer. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
They stayed like that, wrapped up in each other, savoring the last moments of their perfect weekend. They knew challenges would come, and busy schedules would return, but they also knew that their love and commitment would see them through. And with that thought, they drifted off to sleep, ready to face the world together once more.
