Chapter 11: The escape

A/N: some divergence from canon so be warned

Attack Fleet POV

The attack fleet was barely holding on the offensive. The siren ships were easy enough to deal with but it was the sheer amount of submarines that kept surfacing.

If you sink one, two takes it's place.

A squad of 5 skypirates flew in formation towards a small cluster of submarines dropping their torpedoes as they broke off to avoid laser AA fire.
The 4 submarines exploded in a spectacularly large fireball.

Then a salvo of 10 torpedoes was heading towards the giant carrier being launched before the destruction of their subs

Angel(thoughts): Damn it there is no end to them

She was standing on the deck of her ship controlling planes to sink the subs.
She then ordered a pair of XP-55's to make a strafing run on the surface skimming torpedoes. They dived as they fired their front guns and only destroyed 3 torpedoes.

Angel(thoughts): thank my designer for extending my armor under my waterline. I would've sunk long ago if that hasn't been done

We then get a birds eye view of the attack fleet's position. Angel's ship is at the very front while the smaller ships were a kilometer or two behind her.

Her ship has been attracting torpedo fire since the start of the battle. She has been targeted since she is the biggest and most intimidating ship. Which the siren subs automatically attacked

It was a good thing that the sirens used HE torpedoes and not the shaped charged ones. Since HE torpedoes use concussive force to sink ships which was useless against her thick armor

Angel(thoughts): where are they. We should leave as soon as possible before these submarines encirlce us.

She said as multiple pillars of water then appeared on her ships portside. She then turns her head to the left and saw Enterprise and Hornet duking it out with the two sisters Zukikaku and Shoukaku

Angel: Damn they're going all out in there.

She then looks out to the ruined and flooded city. She then squints her eyes as she sees two water trails. The ones who were producing said trail were none other than Belfast and Edinburgh. She saw Belfast carrying a unconcious Sheffield.

Angel: Holy crap they're here. *summons radio* Hey! Wales

Then a reply came through after a moment

Wales(radio): Yes?

Angel: Belfast has the girls and they're fast approaching. Get ready to retreat while i contact the others on the island.

Wales(radio): Understood out

She then changes the frequency of her radio and speaks

Angel: Everyone we got them retreat back to the attack fleet and withdraw

Javelin(radio): Hai! Angel-san

Fort(radio): Gotcha pulling out now

She then puts down the radio as she looks out towards where Enterprise and Zuikaku were fighting

She saw Enterprise shoot an arrow towards her enemy but she cut her arrow hin half

Angel(thoughts): that is if they let us

She thought as Zuikaku tried to slash Enterprise but she blocked using her carrier deck and were locked in a battle of strength
