The annual All Valley competition is almost around the corner. The day of my departure to New York is also near. I confess my romantic feelings to Terry on my departure to New York. "Terry, I'm in love with you. Terry, I'm in love with you. Terry, I'm in love with you." I have been rehearsing these words for the last couple of weeks inside my head. Debating whether or not I should add more to it, or if that would make the confession more cliche. Just imagining me telling that to Terry gives me the jitters and I feel this sinking feeling in my stomach. I can't imagine letting out emotions hidden deep within me for a long time.
"Wait, stop at that gas station real quick. I need a few things before we head to the mall," I instructed Milos. He nodded his head and parked in front of the gas station. I got out of the car shutting the door behind me. I stood in front of the cashier and pointed at the stacks of cigarettes behind him. "Which one would you like?"
"Give me the Marlboro Gold." He grabbed the pack placing it on the counter before adjusting the item on the register machine. "Your total will be $1.01." I paid him in cash. He slid over the pack toward me, "Have a good day, ma'am."
"Thanks, you too." I grabbed the pack and walked outside while lighting one up. I sat on the concrete curb while having the cig in my mouth. I sat on the concrete for a few minutes to relax before heading to the mall to meet Terry. He must be waiting for me.
"You know those are bad for you right?" I heard a high-pitched voice of a kid telling me while standing behind me. I chuckled in a sarcastic tone. "And minding your own business isn't?" I replied. The kid took a seat next to me and put his plastic bag of groceries on the ground between his legs. I watched his actions, "That's how my dad died my mommy tells me. He smoked a lot." I nodded folding my lips in consideration. "Why do adults do dumb things that aren't good for them all the time? Aren't they supposed to be smarter or something?"
"That's a good question I wish I had the answer to, kiddo," I told him and took a drag of my cig blowing out the smoke. "Maybe when you are a grown-up you won't repeat mine or your dad's mistake of smoking. How does that sound?"
He smiled and raised his pinkie to me, "I promise." I intertwined my pinkie with his, "You better," and smiled back. I let go of his pinkie and nodded toward the groceries sitting on the ground, "You should probably get back home now. Your mother will be worried about you." He got up and grabbed the bag of groceries. As he walked away from the gas station he turned around and gave me a wave which I returned before walking away again. I took another drag while looking down at the ground and smiling to myself. That was an interaction that cheered me up a bit.

"Thank you, Milos."
"You're welcome, miss." I got out of the car shutting the door behind me. I turned around to see Milos driving away. I looked around the mall's entrance searching for Terry. I dug into my purse to find my cell to call Terry. As I was about to call him, someone yelled, "Lana!" right behind me scaring me at the moment. I turned around to see Terry laughing and I smiled at him. "Do you always gotta do that?" I said pushing him playfully. We probably got a few stares for our behavior but I could not care less.
After he finished laughing he wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me toward him, "You ready to go shopping, miss?" he asked in a silly British accent.
"Yes, I am," I replied in a British accent as well. We laughed in unison before entering the mall.
"Hey, didn't you once date a British guy, back in '87 was it?"
"Yes, I did."
"You never really told me why you two broke it off. When I asked you how he was doing, you just told me you two were not together anymore and that's all."
"Well, he was a nice guy and all, but he wanted to settle down. Get married, have kids, and yada yada yada, and I didn't want that yet. So, we decided to break it off," I explained to him proud of my response because that's what happened. He nodded his head and gave me a tight squeeze, "Thank God. I can't imagine you having all that with someone else." That answer was uncalled for.

Terry sat outside the fitting room while I was trying on various outfits. My favorite clothing item of all time has got to be shoes. Heels; to be more precise. Being a runway model comes with wearing heels 24/7 and I didn't mind at all. I indeed loved it. There is just something about wearing heels that makes me feel confident and powerful.
"Are you done yet, Lana? I wanna go home," I heard Terry hollering outside the door. I half opened the door and gave him a "Are you serious?" stare. He shrugged his shoulders putting his lips, "What?"
"Wasn't going shopping your idea in the first place, Mr. Businessman?"
"Yes, but I didn't know that you would be spending hours in the fitting room."
I scoffed rolling my eyes. I did feel called out a bit. "Okay, okay. This is my last changing session anyway," I told him showing my heels, "Oh! and I want these." He looked down at the pair of heels I was wearing and smiled before he got up, grabbed both of my shoulders and gave me a peck on the lips, "They look amazing on you. Now can we please go home?"
A/N: guess who's back? back again. Shady's back. Tell a friend.
Anyway, I'm back you all and since summer break has started I will be updating the story more often and hopefully finish writing it by the end of the summer. Don't forget to vote and comment. Love you all <3
