It's around noon when we reach a gas station.
We hoard anything we can get for ten bucks plus a giant gallon of water.
And we'll use whatever's left for a taxi that takes us to the nearest landmark heading east.
I carry the water, which we finish almost entirely by the time we find a taxi, because we barely had any on the journey to Justin's house.
I know this is an experience that she'll never forget: meeting Justin Timberlake.
I just hope she never forgets me.
What am I talking about? She'll never remember me.
I call over a taxi, and ask where the nearest landmark is.
"New Hampton Fields"
"How far are they?" I ask.
"Only a thirty minute drive"
"How much money would that be?"
"Fifteen, twenty may be"
"Great" I say, "Tris, come on in"
She looks reluctant, so I get in first, and hold out my hand to her. She tugs on my hand when she uses it to pull her self up and sit beside me.
The driver doesn't say anything as we drive.
But Tris doesn't remove her hand from mine. It's still stuck on there. And I don't know if it's because I won't let go, or she won't let go, or both.
She stares out the window, and I know I should be enjoying the view, too, but I can't tear my eyes from our clasped hands and her.
I know I like her at least a little bit, but I didn't know her two weeks ago.
But look at what you've been through together, something chants inside me, She was the first person you told about Marcus
That's different, I think, She would've told someone an they would've called and so on...
I start to massage her hand, and her hand twitches, but she keeps it there.
I just wonder what's going on inside her head.
It doesn't matter.
I mean, it shouldn't.
"Five more minutes" the man calls out. I look at the meter and we owe seventeen fifty. I check in my pocket, and feel the money. I still have twenty at least.
She looks away from the window, and leans her head on my shoulder, her eyes closing, "Tobias, what if I never make it back?"
That's what she's thinking about.
"You will. I promise I will get you back. No matter what"
We're whispering so the taxi driver doesn't hear us.
She buries her head in my shoulder and smiles.
I should wrap my arm around her.
Come on Tobias.
Just do it.
I sneak my arms around her.
Success.
Two minutes later of staring at her the taxi driver arrives. The total was nineteen fifty two.
I paid, and Tris slid out, her hand slipping away from mine.
And I want it back.

It's so beautiful. I remember getting on a plane, and looking down at square fields and circle fields.
But from here, it's even prettier.
Apparently it's public, so we can go for free. The crops are built so well.
Tobias comes behind me and wraps his arms around me from behind, and I'm startled. He rests his chin on the top of my head.
Why am I enjoying this so much?
His hands rest over my heart, and that's where my hands stay until I can no longer hear the taxi.
The crops are amazing, and I just take that in, for five minutes.
"Tobias" I say, "I'll race you to the entrance"
The entrance isn't far. The the entrance to a maze where you can see every single crop. It's like a maze that you can go through, and if you can get out you get like a certificate to get a free smoothie. At least that's what it says on the sign.
I take off running before he even agrees and I see him follow me.
I reach the entrance before him, and he says, "You started before me, no fair"
I just giggle.
The entrance is free, and there's a person under an umbrella, leaning in his chair.
He holds out a button to me, and when she sees Tobias, she gets another one out.
"Enjoy the crops"
The button says "The Crops are Tops"
That doesn't even make sense.
Tobias follows me into the crops, and I find myself disoriented.
Which way is it?
There are so many paths to take, but which one should I take.
Tobias pulls me to the left one.
"How do you know this is the way?"
He shrugs, "I can feel it"
"How about a challenge? Who ever makes it to the end first, wins"
"You're on, Tris" he smirks. I take off in a different direction, where my instincts take me, I continue running around.
Left.
Right.
Right.
Right.
Left.
U Turn.
I keep running.
I can feel like I'm almost there.
And then I run into someone, and they knock me to the ground.
It's Tobias.
I laugh, and put faces are so close, I'm sure we're tossing the air back and forth.
I just want to reach up and take his head in my hands and press his lips to mine-
Stop, stop.
I just keep laughing, and he stands up immediately, brushing dust off from his pants.
I giggle and he holds out his hand, and I take it.
He pulls me up, as if I'm as light as a feather.
"Sorry" he says, scratching the back of his neck.
"It's fine" I say.
"May be we should stick together"
Forever, please.
