SORRY FOR DELETING ALL MY CHAPTERS I READ THEM AND CRINGE ILL TRY NOT TO :pppp

they talk a lot about a song in this, which is at the end in video ^^

Today was particularly rough for the whole choir- on fault of ocean of course.

They had PLANNED to have a smooth rehearsal but, of course, ocean started going on one of her strange lectures. No one in the choir really even remember what started it, or what it was about.

Ricky just sat and stared in agony, often urging Penny to keep going, Penny, who tried to get ocean to shut up, because they were the only person ocean was close enough to make her shut the hell up.

Constance tried to help penny with her goal, but neither were making much progress.

Noel and mischa sat at the back of the room, counting down the minutes (more like hours) until ocean stopped yapping. They got bored of this, and eventually, just held hands.

You could say they were comforting each other through this tough time.

Eventually, mischa layed his head in noels lap, and noel played with his curly brown hair, which was relaxing to mischa, and ig stopped him from loosing his mind.

"misch, should we like...escape?"
Mischa softly laughed, because it was true! If they wanted to leave this room ocean would probably hire a hitman.

He looked up to noel and smiled, but noel was looking over to penny, who was staring right back at him. "gay" they mouthed.

"distract ocean" noel mouthed back
"what?" penny muttered, puzzled
Noel started using hand gestures and mouthing things to communicate with penny from across the room.

But penny had no idea. They just shrugged at every gesture noel tried to make. Noel was loosing hope.

Mischa, ricky, and constance felt a bit like three siblings whos parents were arguing and divorcing, on other ends of the custody. They just shared confused glances, watching the hillarious yet confusing scene of noel and penny getting angry in mime trying to communicate, without ocean hearing, who at this point wouldnt notice anyway because she was too entranced in what she was saying. Its like they were... arguing but without actually saying anything?

Eventually noel just gave up, grabbed mischas arm, and left. Not caring what ocean would say.

It was an after-school rehearsal, and it was winter, which meant by the time they left the crumbling school, it was nearly sunset. Mischa trailed behind noel like a lost puppy, who dragged mischa along like he was a 4 year old trying to eagerly show his mother the newest worm he dug up from her flower garden.

He got into the car, started it, and looked to mischa.
"Where are we going?" Mischa said with a laugh.
"i wanna show you something" noel replied.

Noel started to set up music.
"what song do you want love?"

"I dont think you would like my music" mischa responded.

"you sure?" noel said.

"mhm" mischa muttered from the passenger seat.
"i know a song" noel replied

he put on
"The Bug Collector- Haley Heynderickx"

It was neither of their tastes, but noel knew of it and thought it would be good in the moment. The song played, and it was beautiful.

The song was so sad yet so nice because it fit the moment. And for mischa, he looked out the window, then he unrolled it to feel the cold air on his face, and he looked at the trees that were loosing their leaves. Even though it was january, he wasnt sad, well he was, but with noel he felt... complete.

Like, he had felt pretty bad over january, even he would lie to himself. He did notice a difference. But he didnt blame it on christmas being over or post Christmas blues like people said, because he didnt feel much different in january than he did in December. (solitaire ref)

He was far from a perfect person, but noel made him feel special enough to feel good about himself. Noel helped him through most of those really bad days, and today wasnt one of them. Despite ocean supposedly "ruining" the choirs day, he didnt think it too bad, maybe it was noels warm, soft hands, running through his messy hair, or maybe ocean wasnt even that bad.

Mischa was probably the only person listening to her, i mean constance heard bits, but mischa listened, she was talking about how we only have one life, and it was actually pretty inspiring.

The song surrounded his head, he was listening to it for the first time, and by the time it ended, mischa looked to noel with tears in his wide eyes. And they had arrived at where noel was taking them.

It didnt seem like much to mischa, seemed like a semi abandoned woods.
"uhhhh, am i gonna end up dead?"

"im not gonna kill you misch" noel laughed
"why are we here?"

"its a good spot" noel hopped out of the car, trailing off, which caused mischa to copy him.

Noel lead mischa to a bench, surronded by pretty tulips and lilys, the trees standing firm and beautiful by them, a little backwards from a cliff that towered over the small town, it kind of put mischa anxious anyway, how close they were to the edge. He'd always had anxieties or phobias like this to a lot of things since the cyclone accident last september. He still kind of felt effected by this, which made him feel odd because basically the whole choir had moved on accept him, who still had to go to therapy despite it had being over a year since the accident.

Noel noticed this and held mischas hand, and kissed his forehead. They sat on the bench and marvelled at the sight before them.

The most beautiful sunset they had ever seen, over a... far less than perfect town, but still home. They watched the sunset completely, the way the colours danced in the sky, in perfect synchronisation.

Mischa started crying by now, he didnt know why, neither did noel, but noel kissed his teary face, and hugged his waist, and held his cold hands.

They watched the sunset, and held on to eachother to protect eachother from the harsh cold, but they did not care. They felt on top of the world, together, and wanted to stay that way forever.

I WROTE MOST OF THIS WHILE LISTENING TO THE BUG COLLECTOR OVER AND OVER AND IT REALLY GOT ME FEELING SMTH OH DAYS

^^^^^^^
